Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Michael Jackson's last doctor may learn Monday whether his California medical license will be suspended while he faces trial in the pop star's death.
California's medical board will ask the judge to order Dr. Conrad Murray not to practice medicine as a condition of his bail when he appears in a Los Angeles court Monday.
When Murray pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in February, a judge prohibited him from using any anesthesia on patients, but he refused the prosecution's request to suspend his license.
The state is trying again with a new judge in charge of the case.
Murray's treatment of Jackson "demonstrated a serious lack of judgment that should prohibit him from practicing medicine," California Attorney General Jerry Brown said.
Defense lawyer Ed Chernoff, in a filing last week, argued the state must show "changed circumstances" since bail was first set.
Murray currently has no California patients, although he has resumed his medical practices in Houston, Texas, and Las Vegas, Nevada, Chernoff said.
Murray is "hanging on by a thread" financially and could not afford to pay for his legal defense if he loses his medical license, according to his lawyer.
The Los Angeles coroner concluded Jackson's death on June 25 last year was the result of "acute propofol intoxication."
Murray told investigators he gave Jackson propofol, a powerful anesthetic, to help him sleep.

"We do not know what sources to which TMZ is referring," the spokeswoman for Chernoff said. "We only know it didn't come from Ed (Chernoff) who has the final word."
"It is premature to discuss defense strategy," she said.
The TMZ report said Murray would claim that while he had administered propofol to Jackson earlier in the morning, the singer gave himself another dose when the doctor left the room for two minutes.
The possibility that Jackson could have overdosed on his own was considered and ruled out in the coroner's autopsy report.
"It would have been difficult for the patient to administer the drugs (others besides propofol were administered) to himself, given the configuration of the IV set-up," Dr. Selma Calmes, anesthesiology consultant hired by the coroner, wrote.
The tube was in Jackson's left leg with a 5-inch-long injection port, she said.
"He would have had to bend his knee sharply or sit up to reach the injection port and push the syringe barrel, an awkward situation, especially if sleep was the goal," Dr. Calmes said.
Joe Jackson, the singer's father, is expected to attend Monday's hearing in the Los Angeles courtroom of Judge Peter Espinoza. The elder Jackson has filed notice that he will sue Dr. Murray for the wrongful death of his son.

He better lose his license. :ermm: It amazes me that it hasn't already been suspended.

Re: LIVE Stream for April 5th Court Hearing

Why so late in the day? 1:30pm PST means I'll be in class throughout the whole thing. Ugh. Anyone in the US wanna volunteer to send me a couple short text message updates throughout? =P

^ Yeah...It's the biggest KICK in the face to his family, kids, and us that I could even imagine. It's like a child molester who's still allowed to work at a daycare. (wtf?!) Smh.

Anyway,...so...what exactly can we expect from today? What's on the agenda for them? I'm not quite sure what all a Prelim involves. Is there a possibility that they'll stack on charges (or up it to Murder 2)? I'm not sure what today is about.

info at the top states they will ask for his licence to be suspended and also reported the defence will ask for a delay for the date setting of the prelim hearing due to not getting all the evidence from the pros

today isnt the prelim. they were gonna set a date for it today.

Maybe Michael's children should go to court today so that MF sees what the heck he has caused. I guess it wont bother him since he doesn't care about his own 7 children, deadbeat father. Not only that but a cold murderer.

Dr. Conrad Murray -- Emotional Wreck

Posted Apr 5th 2010 7:30AM by TMZ Staff

Dr. Conrad Murray is "an emotional wreck" over the prospect that the judge in his criminal case could suspend his medical license ... sources tell TMZ.

We're told Dr. Murray knows the Texas and Nevada medical boards will follow suit and yank his license in those states if the California judge takes action -- and he is "distraught, worried sick" over the prospect of not being allowed to practice medicine.

"It's the hardest thing he's dealt with since Michael's death," one source tells TMZ.

But Dr. Murray is not nervous about seeing Michael Jackson's family in court today. We're told he "feels deeply for their loss but isn't responsible for his [Michael's] death."

Hmmm...I was waiting for today since the "Dr." was booked.
I hate that it's taken so long, but I hope we get some progress out of this.

Guess it will be about 6hrs untill we get any news from the courthouse.

Murrays licence better be suspended, it would go against all logic if its not.

Waiting..........

Oh, and I would like to add, Bwahahahahaa!! at the above tmz article.

Murray should stop denying it, he's only making it worse for himself. :)
He's only sick with worry because he needs his licence in order to work and, in turn, pay his legal fees.
He should be stewing. I think the Cali med board has already requested that his licence be suspended or revoked.

Today could potentially be sweet.

Waiting....

Edit, Ahh I wish I could stay but I have to get to bed now. Its 1am here :( Looking forward to waking up to some good news I hope. I'm crossing my fingers for the one we all admire and his fam.

Justice can START being served IF they take away his license....This would be a small step in the right direction...It wont bring Michael back..but..it will be a beginning to the end for Murray.

I miss you Michael..

and the P.R games continue from murray. go to hell

Dr. Murray: I Won't Put Them Under in Texas

Posted Apr 5th 2010 12:41PM by TMZ Staff

Conrad MurrayTMZ has learned Dr. Conrad Murray struck an agreement with the Texas Medical Board which will prohibit him from administering Propofol or other heavy sedatives.

Sources tell us the agreement mirrors the current condition to Dr. Murray's bail in his criminal case -- the doctor cannot administer or prescribe Propofol. He is also barred from administering "any other heavy sedative medications that should generally be administered by any anesthesiologist. And he's prohibited from sedating patients."

We're told Dr. Murray has signed the order and the Texas Medical Board will announce it on Friday.

Nevada has not imposed a similar prohibition to Dr. Murray's license.

so he reached an agreement and his license won't be suspended in Texas??? wtf??? I don't understand this.
