Beat It is a logical choice. People know and love it already and this gives them something extra. Fergie. Like her or not she is kicking ass in the USA and will help the success of the track. However i do think it SHOULD be the next single, it is NOT an official single. Its only charting because people are buying the track from the T25 album. For this reason i think Sony need to move quick and make it a single because if its already being bought, making it a sinlge will only help.

For all those who say For All Time should be single i disagree, for now. I think it should be the LAST single from T25 for the changeover period.. T25 - New album. Its not a remix, its a new song, but its on T25 so it can go on that campaign and ride on hype of both T25 AND new album but have no video... then BAM.. NEW album coming and a single from that with a video. So For All Time can be the ease-in for new material. That would make sense to me. Right?

I totally agree with Damien, I was just about to say that (copy-cat, grrr - lol!). Beat It 08 is definitely NOT a singlæe (yet), but it would be a great choice in the US for now.
In Europe I think we need WBSS08 as the new single soon, 'cus people already know the track from the radios, as they've started playing it ages ago ('cus they can tell it's an AWESOME song! Wohooo! :D). Let's get Akon on physical single NOW! :D :D :D

There are only two singles:

"The Girl Is Mine 2008" (physical and digital release BEFORE the album)

PLUS

"Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" (digital release BEFORE the album, physical release still unknown for the French market)



There aren't any other (digital) singles!


The reason why "Beat It 2008" & Co. charted is simply because every track from the 25th Anniversary Edition can also be bought separately (on Amazon USA and iTunes)!


Those are no singles! (Look up the definition of a single, if you say "Beat It 2008" would be a single - which it isn't at all(!!!) - then every song from an album is actually a single because nowadays you can purchase every track from most albums separately! LOL!!!)

just because you dont like the song doesnt mean that the mass market doesnt like it.

beat it entered the charts in various countries just due to downloads. now imagine if the released it in physical form, why would that be such a bad idea, when it's already been proven that its popular for a regular album track on amazon/itunes etc?

just release it as a single worldwide and have sony do a nice fergie + michael jackson video for it, then fergie could at last finally meet michael in person.

the way i judge michaels music to the new gen is through my 17 yr old nephew, who said he loves this! please do not judge this like the original, it was not made that way, you have that version on thriller25 , fergie is good on this new version and i think that the beat is still as infectious as ever! the new meatier base is really cool and i think the way this sounds is definetly club style as in *club banger* this seems to be what all the dance music has and its that beat but with the unique *infectious* melodies of beat it! that put this head and shoulders over most dance tracks now. Look, this is Michael Jackson coming at ya, but with more groove than ever.

TGIM08 just got made the next aussie single so my hope of this happening here has just taken a kick to the nuts.
