In actuality, we have a lot more support for the fact that the kids were severly and regularly beat by Joseph than MJ's word, even if you accuse him of lying. Other siblings talked about it as well and that fact is also shown in the movie Jacksons: An American Dream which was co-produced by Jermaine and was created with the input of several family members.

Interesting that supposedly, this was "not abuse", yet several of the kids still can't talk about it without being visibly emotionally shaken - not only Michael. This is Janet - and she says in her case it was "better" than with the older brothers.

Re Janet - When No Sleep video was released in the summer, it featured a photo of her and Joe. Has it improved in the meantime (the video you psoted is a couple of years old)? Or was it just a coincidence?
 
are we really going to have a debate IF Joe abused the kids or not? Is this really still a question?? And that does not say anything to the fact that he is an elder man now with little life in him left, let him live it...

And when I get a chance, Im gonna show two interviews. One was done by Jackie where he said the way his father was depicted in that Jacksons movie was greatly exaggerated and one where Janet said that Joe never beat her

Im sure we all remember Latoya.s claims that brought much publicity her way and when she stopped trying to be famous, she recanted all of it, because it was never true

And why dont other fathers of famous families ever get cracked on like George Osmond who was like Joe Jackson 10.0 AND was a mormon, who lives by the strictest of rules

Joe Jackson has been scapegoated by society
 
And Janet was the one who stopped her tour rehearsals and flew to her fathers side last year when he had his stroke.

Irregardless, I'm still proud of him for taking his kids to Epic even tho they were sued and their name taken from them. Quite a nasty ugly fight.
 
no one is saying Joe won any awards for "loving parent of the year" we all get that... he lacked many qualities.. But do we have to hit the nail over his head forever because of it? he's a 87 year old man that has his own life to worry about mean while we pick on him...

He does not need any more punishment by us... Let his lack of connection with his children, the day to day life of results of his actions be punishment enough... He is reminded every day he wakes up and faces the reality of his life and how he reaps what he sowed..(good and bad)

Let him find whatever peace he can in that... He is being punished already, no need to add onto it... There is pain all over the issue with every Jackson member... Just cuz he plays face, doesn't mean he is not beaten up inside..

the whole family has been punished by the world for well over 2 decades

that being said, J-5 would have ended if they would have remained at Motown

its' not like Michael went from this label to the next one like musical chairs.....he only performed for 2 labels during his career, Motown and Epic

Unless Berry has the power of life and death he can't make such a bold statement. For all we know Mike could've died sooner if he stayed with Motown. He could've ended up broke and a has been child star, the path that would have been his fate if Joe didn't seek out another label for them to grow artistically.
