It's just beyond my comprehesion why they would release a song with FAKE MJ's vocals. I mean, WTF? What is that? Are they serious? Is the new album gonna have FAKE songs? If so, I'm not going to buy that. This must be a JOKE or something. Do they not have REAL MJ's songs at their disposal? OMG

1) No one ever made the name of Jason Malachi among the family or collaborators.
This is just fan speculation based on the fact that he has the most resembling voice around. We're making this up with our own hands.

2) We're giving this guy more popularity than he needs (I mean for some work he may haven't done) The first time I'll hear some major news saying his name I'll start scream like crazy!

3) Try listen to the song very carefully, with some good earphones (I know the source file is not perfect, but that's better than nothing).

Take away all the "aoows" that of course have been recycled from some past song to give some fuel to the song, take away all the background vocals, the intro and the outro. What we have now are very few "clean" verses. Try to think them with a higher pitch, let's say a semi-tone.

Do you still think there is something that stands out as an impersonator voice?
I mean.. in EVERY Jason Malachi song there is something that you hear and think :doh:
I don't think this is the case. What we have is probably an early demo. Something written by Cascio (family who, remember, has always had a wonderful relationship with Michael, maybe better than his real family).

Listen to how a voice can be modified..
Listen to how Michael is not singing AT ALL during the chorus.
Listen to the bridge (we all must unite, turn darkness to light etc.) and how his voice is pitched down of at least a tone without a meaning (he just wanted his voice to sound deeper).

Maybe I'm just getting caught in their trap. Maybe I have been brainwashed..
I can't believe Sony wanted us to hear this song first, with songs like Another Day complete and available.

Please answer with FACTS and EVIDENCE.

Sound-alikes likes these are a lot more convincing when covering his stuff, rather than performing their own works. As we see in the LIML video above, that's pretty damn close. Imitating a particular person's song is 100,000,000 times easier than impersonating them on one of your own works. MJ's genius as a singer doesn't just come out of his vocal texture...it's the choices he makes when singing. Where to place the ad-libs, his unique diction, the strength of his stop-plosives (certain consonant endings on words), when to go rock hard and then come back liquid smooth, the vocal percussion, the whimpers, the wails, the flips, the screams, the tongue trills, and other things I can't even come up with examples for because I'm not Michael. On their own, no one can duplicate the type and amount of creativity he uses. All they can do is imitate it with a given recording.

It's like that with any art when you have a template to follow. For example, if you ask me to draw a dog for you...you might end up a little disappointed, lol, but if you give me a picture of a dog that someone else drew and ask me to reproduce it, I could do it and come relatively close to the original.

That's what makes this obvious. It's not so much that he doesn't sound like MJ, but that the song is lacking in vocal originality - he didn't have MJ's ideas to follow as a guideline. It just sounds flat. Michael was so teeming with creativity that he always sounded multi-dimensional, always. You can hear it in one take demos and even when he's not performing. In normal conversation, he'll sing one little line of something and it's all there. He doesn't write a song and then have to sit down and come up with little stylized sprinkles and different ways to use his voice to make it more interesting. It's already there. It all comes at the same time.

This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read in terms of both Michael's artistry and artistry in general. Great post and 100% accurate on how I feel about the song and everything right now.

This MF makes me sick F him its ok to imitate ish i do it with my dancing but you are not Freaking The king of pop there will never be another fn Michael stop trying to sound like him. dancing is one thing but you look retarded and thats how some of these people talk about us fans of michael like were weirdos. man i wish Michael was still here damn it.

Feeling a few different things about this right now. I'm enjoying the song, and I do think that Michael is in there someplace in the mix, but as mentioned, who knows just how complete this song was before Michael's passing? The style is a little different from Michael's other stuff, and some of the vocal inflections are a little different, but I hear a good deal of them in there, albeit a little deep in the mix. Michael was always pretty good at changing his singing style from song to song when he wanted to.

Bottom line is I'm personally going to wait to pass judgment until either the album comes out or we get concrete proof of fraud, whichever comes first.
