Don't know which media they own, but they've got a hand in almost everything. Was Michael's memorial a "reality show?" They sure put that together fast, didn't they? The article is from April 2008. The really serious talks with Michael began in July, 2008. Guess that was the "new programming?" I see they also do "theme parks?"

The deal was announced today by

The multi-year agreement provides both MPB and AEG with the first opportunity to produce television content or live events respectively. Specifically, MBP will have a first opportunity to produce in any form of non-scripted, reality, and game show television programming based on selected AEG tours and Properties. In turn, AEG will have a first look at selected MBP Properties that MBP designates for live-event production.
"We have always believed that the next logical stage of development for many of our most popular television reality programs would be to live-action events," said Burnett. "AEG is the perfect choice for us to work with to develop live shows and tours for some of our popular shows that the public is looking forward to interacting with in person. We firmly believe in live entertainment and that it will greatly enhance the value of our popular brands."
Mark Burnett is known for producing groundbreaking and popular television programs such as Survivor, The Apprentice, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, Rock Star, the boxing reality show, The Contender, and has promoted two successful boxing events at the AEG owned Staples Center. Additionally, Mark Burnett has active production companies in Europe and Asia producing programs for both the U.S. and foreign markets and an active scripted television and motion picture division in the U.S.
"The unprecedented popularity and exceptional creativity behind the catalog of shows produced by Mark Burnett Productions clearly indicates that Mark and his staff have tremendous insight, not to mention an incredible track record of being able to develop programs that resonate with television audiences all over the globe," said Leiweke. "Add to this mix an exciting slate of programs now in development and we believe that together we can capitalize on the shows Mark desires to take on tour that will allow the millions of fans to experience them live and in a totally new way."
"Likewise, we believe Mark and his colleagues are uniquely qualified to adapt AEG's most popular national tours and 'brands' and to re-create them in an innovative and exciting TV-friendly manner never before considered," said Eric Stevens, President, AEG Live Events and Media. "We are excited and energized about this new relationship with Mark. We believe that the synergy that can grow out of adapting our properties for television and Mark's properties for live events is tremendously powerful."

"AEG's experience on both the creative and development side when it comes to tours and live productions as well as their tremendous experience in promotion of their tours truly makes them the leaders in the industry," Burnett added. "We also look forward to working with them and their colleagues throughout the music/live event industry to create more entertainment for our great and loyal fans both at home and in venues not only in America, but throughout the world."
