Estate, Cascio and Porte Sued Over Three Songs on the "Michael" Album - Vera Senova Class Action

Re: Estate, Cascio and Porte Sued Over Three Songs on the "Michael" Album - Vera Senova Class Action

I doubt this will get much attention media-wise. It isn't getting much currently.

Re: Estate, Cascio and Porte Sued Over Three Songs on the "Michael" Album - Vera Senova Class Action

Associating these songs with this person is the biggest issue some of the fans have brought to themselves. Mark my words.

I see someone put another penny in the idiot. You've got no credibility anymore mr Alex T. well did you ever have?

You have no idea whats going on in this case and yet you keep replying, keep setting yourself up

Haha Sony and the Estate screwed up on this. At one point I believed they were MJ but as time went on it definitely became more and more suspicious.

Sony and the Estate should release 3 songs to replace these songs on the "Michael" album. But will they? Like hell.

The Estate and Sony should have used some common sense -- if there were any reasonable level of suspicion... why even be stupid enough to take the risk? This is what happens and it'll come back to bite you in the ass.

Re: Estate, Cascio and Porte Sued Over Three Songs on the "Michael" Album - Vera Senova Class Action

There always was something a little off about those songs, and the remaining songs that were left over from "the sessions." I had to concede that if Michael really sang those vocals, he wasn't well at the time because it doesn't sound like him.

And if those songs were done in 2007, I find it really suspicious that, 2 years later, a vocal track for "Best Of Joy" was laid down that was one of Michael's best. If Michael's voice changed, why did it change back? The only reasonable explanation is that it was a different vocalist.

I do like the songs though, which is why I kept my mind open to the possibility of it being Michael. However, I'm not really surprised at the news today. Sony should refund people like me that bought 3 copies of the album, because I figured it was a collector's item.

Well, well, well...! Not that we needed a lawsuit to convince me those songs aren’t Mike.

Nice to see everyone back for this news! Cant wait to see how this all transpires...

In 2010, several songs were released that were said to be recorded by the late Michael Jackson. Four years later, one fan questioned the music’s validity, leading many to believe the music was fraudulent. Now, nearly three years after the scandal, Sony Music Entertainment has admitted to releasing and selling fake tunes by the late legend.
The fake songs reportedly appeared on the 2010 posthumous album Michael. The songs in question include: “Monster,” “Keep Your Head Up,” and “Breaking News.” In court documents obtained by Karen Civil, Vera Servoa – the fan who kickstarted the investigation into the fake MJ songs – filed a civil suit, accusing Jackson’s longtime friends Eddie Cascio, James Victor Porte, and his production company, Angelikson Productions LLC of creating and selling music through Sony and the Jackson estate.

Cascio and Porte initially claimed that the songs were recorded in Cascio’s basement in 2007. Serova and the Jackson family, contested those claims however. While the singles sounded similar to MJ’s sound, they said Michael never recorded them. Serova testified in the Los Angeles Superior Court that they were recorded by an impersonator named Jason Malachi.
Consequently, Sony Music Entertainment conceded in court, that it had released fake singles. It’s unclear if fans or Jackson’s estate will be awarded for the criminal behavior or whether there will be an monetary punishment for Sony.

Sony ain't slick for just now confessing this shit that we all knew from day one when this album and Breaking News was released. I'm so not surprised that they just now admitted to this and they spent the last eight years denying the truth. I hope that the Casico brothers are taken to court for allowing these tracks to even be released, let alone makes these false recordings and hand them out to auction houses.

This has got a lot of coverage in the media. Spin, VIBE and a few others are covering it.

I still can't believe 8 years later that a studio like Sony released an album from a fake singer. This "album" shouldn't be on the market anymore.

"Serova is NOT alleging that Michael Jackson did not sing on those songs, just that he did not sing LEAD VOCALS"

Let's not get swayed by the media's misinterpretation and exaggeration..

except that sony didn't concede nothing

All albums should be recalled from the shelves and be released as a 7 track album if anything

Exactly! And nothing implying JASON MALACHI,or the guy could make a court case of his own

Same difference. The only MJ on those songs are the copy/pasted samples from acapellas of previously released, actual MJ songs.

I doubt sony would say such a thing. You hardly concede like that when you are fighting such a case. Even when cases are settled they normally say they arent excepting wrong doing.

Wheres the court docs people are using to support such claims

They didn't confess anything. They're speaking in hypotheticals.

So did they admit to it or did they not? This is pretty huge if so.

Well this is getting f*cking interesting. Hey old timers.

Re: Estate, Cascio and Porte Sued Over Three Songs on the "Michael" Album - Vera Senova Class Action

What has Korgnex got invested in this to be so defensive? Strange.

Whether fans have pushed anything or embellished anything is not that important when considered alongside doing what is right by Michael. Attention should be drawn to this. Nobody should be quiet about it.
