randy jackson is furious footage of michael's funeral at forest lawn is being broadcast all over the world, saying it was a private event and not meant for the public to see.

Jackson just released a scathing statement condemning those who violated the no-fly zone over forest lawn last night -- and asking all media organizations to refrain from airing footage of the event.

Here's randy's full statement:

"as a family, we are all aware of how michael's life, and his death, touched so many around the world. It is why we held a public memorial in my brother's honor.

And it is the reason we chose to release a small amount of footage leading up to yesterday's ceremony at forest lawn.

I was dismayed last night and again today at the coverage i saw on television of our ceremony for michael. We had asked the media to respect the privacy and the sanctity of this event; to give us one moment of privacy to mourn as a family out of the public spotlight.

Unfortunately, despite a no-fly zone around forest lawn, many media organizations decided to ignore our wishes. They employed helicopters that not only surreptitiously recorded our private family ceremony, but also severely disrupted it.

I therefore ask today that media organizations airing helicopter footage of the ceremony we held for my brother immediately pull that footage from their air and refrain from airing it in the future."

i will watch..... after all, it will be not for the Jackson family... but for janet and the kids... and most importantly.... look at a place that michael paid... havenhurst... michael paid for the entire estate... and made it nice... it's like watching were he grew up..
 
At the time of his death, Michael Jackson's siblings were not focused on the well being of Michael Jackson. They were too busy plotting to get him to tour with themso they could make money off him. Remember Michael Jackson did not name a single one
of his siblings to be an executor of his will or to be a guardian of his children. These are the facts.
 
For the record.....

Only TMZ came with this news? Nobody else? Cause if that is the case....i wouldn't jump to any conclusions.

Who knows why they were filming
Michael was constantly filming and documenting.
Maybe the family will just add this footage to his archives as a way to complete his life on film.

Or try to contact a reliable source... an A&E representative.
Don't just blindly trust TMZ of all sources!!!!
Please withhold judgment until you hear something definitive.

More than half the posters here belongs in the tabloids section. Michael would not touch them with a ten foot pole. Spreading and bickering about gossips like 6 year old brats.

But remember this: Michael is watching!

So it's okay to watch footage that the dreaded media profits from, but if the family members are gonna benefit from it, it's an issue?

We would have watched if the media had been allowed to film/show that footage.

:scratch:Michael had a strong dislike for the media who stalked and ridiculed him every chance they got, but he loved his family, ALL of them.
 
My personal opinion:

There is a big difference. They wanted a private funeral they claimed. But in the same breath, they announce the funeral time/date to the entire world and gave more than 400 press credentials. They even provided a live feed up until the casket arrived. The media did not chase them down. The Jacksons gave 400 press credentials to report from the gates. The Jacksons shunned any fans for coming near. Fine. I'm ok with that.

What many people did not know and something TMZ has reported as well as A&E themselves is that the Jackson reality show was re-wired to focus on the grieving Michael angle, so they are going to milk the "grief porn." They filmed INSIDE the Great Mausoleum as well as footage the BBC/CNN did not have access to - and all that will be in the reality show and via DVD. A & E also filmed the repast.

It's all a charade being played on us to hype up the Jacksons' reality show. It's about "Money" and I think it's disresepctful to Michael and his kids.

I respect your opinion, I just disagree with the logic behind it.

The final goodbye is part of the ending to the A&E program.
What's the big deal? Anyone who doesn't want to participate/have footage of them shown, probably won't be shown. As for the children, they can only be shown IF Ms. Katherine agrees. Anything besides that and possibly an inside peek into the mausoleum, we've already seen.

It's the only glimpse the fans are gonna get and I'm thankful that they're willing to share some of their private moments...they are theirs to share if they choose to. As for making money from the footage, so what?

Like it or not, Michael got his start WITH his family I think it's fitting that the first story of the ending of his life be with them as well.
 
I don't bear any ill-will toward those who choose to watch the reality show (and raise the ratings). I can surely understand wanting to watch anything related to Michael. But if the Jacksons filmed INSIDE the mausoleum and then will show footage on the reality show? If that is TRUE? Then I renew my pledge not to watch a minute of any "Jacksons reality show." That is simply too much. . . . . . . and undignified, IMHO.
 
Sounds to me like TMZ is just pissed that they weren't allowed inside...:tease:

You can bet that if they had been, they would surely be showing the footage themselves.

I've been thinking about MJ as King Lear, but his daughters wouldn't be litteraly his children, but people very close to him, thinking only about themselves. Who would Cordelia be? I really don't know...maybe there was someone/a woman who could be a parallel?;)

NO comment really on the footage being used for the A&E show. I'll come back later and comment on that... but I just didn't want ppl to think this was really an AFTERPARTY. That's not what it is..

It's ALSO tradition here in the US. It is the best way to pay respects in a setting where the dead are not in the room. It's a way to bring finality to the death. It is a way to celebrate the person's life. There isn't anything 'gross' or 'inappropriate' about it. I don't think many of you have been to funerals. I've been to too many. But, even then, it is helpful when you are surrounded by those who also loved the deceased and have a short time to find solace amongst friends and find fellowship in the gathering of others.

The Irish celebrate by having a wake where the body is out in the open and many have been known to dance and celebrate with the body as if he was still alive. We may find it gross, but it is their tradition. Let's respect Mike and his family and let them have what they need right now. It isn't for US. It is for them. They need to heal.

An A&E special on the other hand IS gross, inappropriate, sickening, and tabloid-ish. How is a wake "art" OR "entertainment"? It's neither. Michael separated himself from Jermaine for a reason and that reason becomes more and more clear by the day.
 
The only reason why I posted "after party" in the title is because that's the way the article referred to the repass.

I think the reason why the article referred to "after party" was because of the circus-like atmosphere with the reality show cameras filming and certain behavior of certain attendees.

I've been to a lot of funerals... too many actually :(
repast is a great way to remember the dead but I was just shocked at the word 'Party' the article used.

The problem here is that they are using Michael's funeral for money and publicity - something as sacred and as private, as tragic and horrible as his death! this is unbelievable!
I'm really worried about MJ's kids...now you understand why Michael kept his distance from the family?
