Invincible was not only better than Off the Wall, but well deserving of it's "Album of the Decade" award, people need to acknowledge how GREAT it was

Off The Wall is one of the best songs Michael have ever recorded. Pure masterpiece! Chorus of this song is amazing! I love it. But the truth is that this song still is weaker than Whatever Happens or Unbreakable. DSTYGE and RWY are awesome, but they are weaker than Off The Wall. Get On The Floor is a real banger, but that's all. First part of OTW is perfect, but the second part is awful... Invincible has a few boring songs. I can agree, that 2000 Watts, YAML, DWA and Invincible are weak. But the rest songs are either good or perfect
I repeat, get stronger taste please.

I agree. Kinda.

Off the Wall is one of the most overrated albums of all time, in my opinion. It’s good, not great. Any male disco/R&B artist could’ve pulled off that entire album with ease; it’s not an album I hear a lot of daringness on. Invincible isn’t necessarily better, but I would argue it has more artistic intrigue, variation, and complexity. I can’t think of a single artist who could’ve done “Unbreakable,” “Threatened,” “Whatever Happens,” or “Break of Dawn” as well as MJ did.

There was no artists pulling off an entire Stevie Wonder cut from Songs in the Key of Life, @AlwaysThere. Off The Wall was way more than just good.

But the real truth is almost all of the 70s Disco and funk was pristine, in my opinion. From Chaka Khan and Rufus to Chic, who was making bad dance music back then?

I dunno about that. Stevie Wonder could’ve. Marvin Gaye. Luther Vandross. There’s also multiple excellent covers. It’s a good song, but I wouldn’t rate it as something tailor-made for MJ or something nobody else could do. Everything on OTW, in my opinion, could be done well by many other artists, which is why I don’t personally rank it as high.

Well, maybe. Those guys weren't doing disco though. I wanna say their music (of the first two at least) was much deeper.

Tailor made, no, it wasn't. But expertly handled, that is very much the case. I saw an essay on I Can't Help It; didn't watch the whole thing but maybe it would explain the case best.

Off The Wall also gave birth to two incredible other tracks: Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' and Little Susie. One sounded a lot like the era, the other had nothing in common. Both are very impressive and definitely show MJs strength as a composer in a way very little on Invincible does (except maybe Speechless).

Though both of them are pretty weak songs. Especially Little Susie. WBSS is good, but that's all 🤨

It's my opinion that the best music of today equals the best of the past, but very rarely surpasses it. At least in the pop genre.

He doesn't have terrible taste, but I don't really care if he dislikes a song or not lol.
Why do you think, that I dislike it, lol. It's one of my favorite. But it's doesn't change the fact, that it's one of the weakest on Thriller album

Every MJ album has strong and weak songs. For example, Another Part of Me, Smooth Criminal, Liberian Girl, Bad and Leave Me Alone are strongest songs on Bad album, while The Way You Make Me Feel, Just Good Friend's and IJCSLY are weakest. That's okay guys. No need to make scenes)

I don't think Mike could do any of these
Maybe he wouldn't cover them but he'd definitely interpolate them.

The 1st one sounds like Jam and 2 Bad, like a rudimentary blend kinda.

The 3rd one would be something they'd sample as a homage to James Brown, which it sounds like.

The 4th one, he would definitely be all over that melody line of the guitar. If he liked Horse with No Name, why not this?

The 2nd one, you got me there. OutKast is crazy tho, no one can do them.

Nobody is making scenes as far as I am concerned, though?
I just wish to know why you consider "Little Susie" as being such a weak song (in your view,at least).
I am not looking for a fight,but rather a (healthy,I hope)debate/discussion on the matter.
