Is it just the new fans pushing for this album?

No, why do I need to give it up? This is a public forum. I'm free to respond to any posts. If the discussion you have with L.T.D is meant to be one-on-one, then I suggest you two to carry it to PM.

I'm not acting as a referre neither. I responsed to his post and I agreed with what he said and don't find it insulting.

You seem to be an advocate of being open minded. However, when someone presented a statement that you don't agree with, your first response was saying his remark was insulting, while in fact he just stated his observation.

You seem to insist to make a point that what I said was uncalled for when even LTD himself could feel his comment would be controversial. We discussed our opinions in a perfectly well-behaved fashion, yet you want to convince me, the forum readers, yourself, that I'm some illogical self-contradicting creature by being insulted. I just see no use for you to stir up this little fire, when there is no purpose to do so.

It was uncalled for. I knew what I said would be taken that way here, because I know how sensitive people can be on this forum in particular. Anything can be twisted and seen as offensive when posting on here, the slightest thing can be seen as controversial.

I felt that what I said was fine, I just knew it would be taken the wrong way.

^ Well, you can't determine for another person what is or is not insulting. So me being insulted is just what it is. And making sweeping statements about language and nationality could tick people off and like you said, we're a sensitive bunch. I'm glad you didn't mean it in an insulting way though. But we're drifting more and more off topic.

Didn't I participate in the discussion in a perfectly well-behaved manner as well? Did I insult anyone? So, why do I need to "give it up"? How am I stirring fire? Which one of my posts are provocative?

For the record, I have no intention to convince you of anything. I'm here to express my opinion. Simple as that.

^ Your posts aren't provocative, far from it. I just didn't get your intention other that calling me out when it was not at all necessary to do so. But continue by all means. I'm having dinner now.

I can't determine what is or is not insulting for someone. But I can express my opinion that its a silly thing to be insulted.

If I were to learn Italian and an Italian told me that I couldn't recognise the pronunciation of an Italian word as well as they could. I wouldn't be insulted, that would be ridiculous.

I'm not saying people from other countries cannot recognise MJ's voice as well as people whose Native language is English. As I made reference to earlier, that impersonator called Jean Walker has blown us all away...he has been able to match MJ's voice better than any native English speaker I have ever come across. However it is more about recognising the pronunciation of certain English words.

Again, I don't necessarily believe this, it is just something I have considered.

How is it calling you out when I am simply following an on-going disucssion, responding to your posts directed to me and expressing my opinion?

Please don't make it sound like I'm a childish individual who wants to pick a fight for I'm not.

It's true that when one runs out of valid points to counter-argue, one always sougt to personal attack.

I guess that a lot of the older (1980's or earlier) fans are supporting the Albums less.........

I'm a fan from the early 1990's but even I think that the decision the add the Cascio songs is almost a betrayal to Michael and his perfectionist instinct!!.........

I guess that the new fans just really want to experience the hype and excitement of the release of a Michael Jackson album.............

I can still remember the releases of Dangerous, HIStory, Blood On The Dancefloor and Invincible......as well as compilations Number Ones, Ultimate Collection and Visionary.............but the new fans were never there to witness all of this.....

I also remember when Hold My Hand was leaked and there were loads of MJ fans who weren't happy with the song........and it was also understood that it was meant for an Akon (not a MJ album).......

People are also unhappy with the inclusion of The Way You Love Me as it was already released........

And it is criminal (and an Insult) that songs like Xscape, Serious Effect, Place With No Name, Do You Know Where Your Children Are and Slave To The Rhythm were excluded!!!!

Overall..........Michael the album is an Epic Fail!!!!!!

I wish fans would stop separating the "old" fans from the "new" fans...does it really matter? I'm sure old fans were pushing for the album too and surely newer fans are against it.

And if I remember correctly, months before the album came out, say last summer, there was a huge, very active thread here containing information about the new album and there was a mixture of "new" and "old" fans in there were in sheer excitement. It was when the album was released (and Breaking News) that more and more people were against it.

we should stay united and enjoy Michael's music...i'm sure Michael would be upset so see us fighting...

To answer the question from the OP, In my opinion, its more the casual fans, who aren't really aware of the vocal controversies that plague the album, that are buying the copies, and I'd say the more diehard fans like us, are a bit more skeptical, but each to their own, Everyone has a right to buy it, if they want..

I wish this new and old fan thing would stop now. Its been almost been two years since Michael passed, the bandwagon has well and truly passed now. All the fans are still here.

I'm glad Michael came out because I love michaels music. However, I have zero interest in the marketing or promotion of the songs because without Michael here it's a waste of time, the video magic is gone
And there's no hope of any stage performances. I dont even really care about which singles come out (as long as it's not the casino
Tracks). I feel like the long time fans are over it and know better than for Sony to do right by this album when they've only done so much wrong, now and in the past. If it was a album full of new hot material i may feel different
But as it stands i feel like it must be all the newer fans hoping this album is pushed and that we call radio stations and defend Michael on twitter sites and do all that stuff that only newer fans have the energy and excuse me, naiveté to engage in in regards to the album. I feel like the older fans know it's a waste of time....I'm wondering if other feel that way. I just remember being younger and figthting for those things but now a days, with mj gone and knowing Sonya heart isn't in this album that it's a waste of time.

As a fan for over 25 years, you've expressed my feelings exactly.

Loving the music, but the 'magic' is gone. Its times like this that you realise how much Michael is/was needed.
