Janet is going to perform at the AMAS!!!!

whoop! i can't wait to see her performance, maybe she'll accept some awards on behalf of michael
 
Oh my gosh! Both Janet and Whitney are going to perform at the AMAs!!!!! I'm super excited! Gonna vote for Michael some more!
 
Thanks for the link. I wish they didn't cut off the Michael bit at the end. It sounds like Janet's going to open the show. If Mike wins, I hope she accepts awards on behalf of him.
 
I'm sure she's going to accept the awards on behalf of Mike :) I heard she's going to perform a MJ song, as well. Her performance is 8 minutes long. Can't wait!!
 
and Michael better win all those awards! Anyone else would be a joke!

Janet Jackson to open the 'American Music Awards'

Michael Jackson received five posthumous American Music Award nominations, and the upcoming ABC award show will turn to one of Jackson's siblings to open its broadcast. Following her gala-launching tribute at the MTV Video Music Awards, Janet Jackson will lead off the Nov. 22 AMAs with what's billed as a "special opening performance."

Just prior to Janet's appearance on the AMAs, the artist will release her "Number Ones," a two-disc set capturing her biggest hits. Yet even with the greatest hits package, and a new single in "Make Me," one can bet that Janet will undoubtedly lead an AMA tribute to her brother.

“We’re thrilled about having Janet Jackson open this year’s show,” said American Music Awards producer Larry Klein in a news release. “She is an incredibly dynamic performer, and I think the audience will be excited to see what she has in store.”

Janet gave a dance overview of Michael's career at the recent MTV VMAs. The AMAs will air live on the East Coast at 8 p.m. from downtown's Nokia Theatre.

Other previously announced performers include Whitney Houston, Rihanna, Green Day, Shakira, Lil’ Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Keith Urban, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, the Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry and Adam Lambert.

She should receive her own awards. Why don't we honour people as long they are around? Before June 25th she was a recognized artist in her own right now they simply call her "the sister of the unforgetable KOP" as if she has nothing achieved. After all those years of discipline & hard work she now is only "the sister of"
 
UGH! "With five nominations...." WHAT? UGH! How dare they cut off the KOP!

But yeah I'll be watching. And I haven't been interested in any of these awards shows in years..

Umm where did you hear that? They put Janet first before Mike and even said "you know its going to be a show"

So what are you talking about?
 
Can't wait to see her performance. Unfortunatly I don't receive the programme so I have to wait till it's on YouTube... but I'm so excited. I love Janet!! She is my fave female Jackson :wub:

If Michael wins or not I hope there is some kind of tribute to him on the show.

please, given the situation i think it's fine. janet is an icon on her own, people will understand if she receives something for her brother
