Re: January 9, 2009

That story (and the pics) about him shopping for CDs in the disguise is the same story and pics from damn New Years Eve. Why are they posting it on Jan 9th 2009 as if its a new shopping outing with new pics? Idiots (the blogsite not the news mods*lol*) :p

Re: January 9, 2009

That's what fooled me too, hence the posting of the pic. ;)

Song "Baby's Fire" Added to Michael Jackson's BMI Repertoire

Just a short notice to inform you that today, January 9, 2009, a new song was added to Michael Jackson's BMI Repertoire with a given title of "Baby's Fire" -- alternate titles include "Higher Baby's Fire" and "Baby's on Fire." The credits name Michael Jackson and Ryan D. Groves as the songwriters/composers, with Michael's MiJac Music listed as the sole publisher (as with all of Michael's BMI works). It is believed (but not yet confirmed) that the Ryan Groves in question is a singer/songwriter from Santa Monica, CA--the same region that Michael Jackson has recently moved to. According to Mr. Groves' MySpace page: "What separates Ryan from your average 'Singer/Songwriter' genre artists is his ability to create unique songs in structure and melody, and his ability to hit home with strong metaphorical lyrics." There is no clear information available about this this track at this time, and it is entirely possible that it only samples one of Michael Jackson's prior hits. The track has not been officially released in any form. Michael Jackson's spokesperson confirmed earlier this week that he moved to Los Angeles so that he could be closer to "where all the action is" and added that "the second half (of Michael Jackson's career) will be better than the first."

In related news, MJJR.net can confirm that the story circulated earlier this week about a new single being released by L.A. Lewis featuring Michael Jackson is false. MJJR.net spoke with Mr. Lewis and previewed the track in question, and it is actually a remix of Jason Malachi's "Let Me Let Go" which has no connection to Michael Jackson, despite it being erroneously attributed as such by many (including L.A. Lewis).

Not many know that this dude's debut was actually as a child artist in the film Aasha, when he was merely six years old! Later on, he went onto play minuscule but prominent roles in Aap Ke Deewane and Bhagwan Dada. It's only after that he went onto assist his director father in the productions of Karan Arjun and Koyla; films that went onto become not just milestone but also landmark films. Hrithik made his full fledged debut with the smash hit Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai, a film that gave the world India's answer to the likes not just the dancing tornado Michael Jackson

#8 ONCE UPON A MIDNIGHT DREARY: THE RAVEN
A new production company called FilmNation is getting started with The Raven, a crime thriller set in the final days of Boston poet/author Edgar Allen Poe, as he gets involved in a serial killer investigation. Poe actually did die under mysterious circumstances, and movie projects about his final days have actually been under development over the years by a few different people, including pop star Michael Jackson (who wanted to star) and visionary director David Lynch.

Michael Jackson musical set to thrill

Updated 10.35 Sat Jan 10 2009
Keywords: thriller live, Jackson Five, Michael Jackson, musical, thriller
Eight different performers are gearing up to play Michael Jackson in a West End show charting the pop star's life.
The King of Pop's 40-year career has been put into a stage show called Thriller Live, covering hits from the Jackson Five days to his 1991 album Dangerous.

Roger Wright, one of the men playing Jackson, said he is honoured to play the part.
"Obviously he's such a perfectionist and and amazing artist you want to, as a performer, do it justice and obviously there's only one Mike you know," he said.
"From our hearts, on the stage, we just try and do our best and make it sound good "
Ricko Baird, another Jackson performer, once doubled for the man himself in the video You Rock My World and choreographed the video.
"It's big shoes to fill but you just do the best you can and you know I love Michael Jackson and I've worked with him, and as a child growing up you just know Michael Jackson, you know, all the moves and stuff," he said.
"So, yeah, you just got to focus. It's a really focused mind state you have to be in to make sure the performance comes across like he would do it."
Thriller Live opens at London's Lyric theatre on January 21st.

Japanese Impersonators: Michael Jackson vs Louis Armstrong

japanese-impersonators.jpg

Those crazy Japanese with their mad game shows. Check out this show which pits impersonators against each other. In this case a Japanese impersonator takes on Michael Jackson’s thriller, which is difficult when you can barely pronounce a consonant. But you have to check out his competition at 1.20 mark, which is a Japanese impersonator of Louis Armstrong, complete with painted face.
Enjoy.

this news is very cool :)

Donghyun Son’s King: Michael Jackson Portraits

here is pictures: :)
michael-jackson-1.jpg

michael-jackson-2.jpg

michael-jackson-4.jpg

michael-jackson-instal.jpg

While this show at Gallery2 in Seoul, Korea has already closed, Donghyun Son’s work deserves a look.

“The show, titled KING, is filled with portrayals of Michael Jackson, done in portraiture. The artist says a turning point in Michael Jackson’s career was the year 1989, when Elizabeth Taylor called him the ‘king of pop, rock and soul’ at the award ceremony for Artist of the Decade. It was then Jackson became a king, coronated by a queen of the entertainment world; this is poignant, considering that in 1989 kings of social rank no longer existed.”

A couple favorites and more explanation after the jump

Even when toddling, Michael Jackson was loved for his beautiful voice. Since then, he has ceaselessly changed himself, longing for more love from the public, and has changed his attitude toward music and the world. As such, his appearance has transformed also. He got lost in these excessive changes and eventually misled himself. On second thought, considering that he has pursued the public’s desire only, his transformed appearance is simply a mirror reflecting their twisted desire.”

Unlike his previous work addressing each character, these recent works unfold a longer narrative with only portraits of Michael Jackson. Son seems to consider Michael Jackson a sole figure who represents a half-century history of mass culture from 1960 to 2000. Jackson himself is a mirror reflecting an age and a living history, inspiring a new era. In KING series, the artist attempts a new change in many ways, employing new themes and subject matter. While in his previous work Son alluded to an irony in which the signifier clashes with the signified, in this series he highlights portraiture itself. Another eye-catching object in his work is the chair Jackson is seated on. Michael Jackson in his work sits on a chair in costumes and poses we probably saw on his music albums or in videos. Classified into two styles, the chairs stand for a turning point in which Jackson referred to himself as a king.

Since then, his stage action and costumes gradually became more authoritative, as if to show the dignity of a king. In Son’s portraits Michael Jackson before 1989 was seated on a chair with a tiger-skin cushion while his appearance after 1989 was seated on a red royal chair. Upon closer examination, Michael Jackson whose skin is still dark sits on a chair with stripes in a slanted position. He seems to sing a song over the microphone or sits in a dignified mien with his arms folded. After he became a king, Jackson whose skin completely changed into that of a white man sits on a king’s chair with golden details on a red background in a supremely confident attitude.

“The reason why we look back on Michael Jackson now is not because he is either a record breaker or a scandal maker but because his music shows how popular music has met fashion, video, attitude, and even science. Nowadays, Michael Jackson is regarded as a tragic star who shined the world for a while but soon falls down. A large number of youngsters, however, strive to take the ‘trail of becoming a king in mass culture’ Michael Jackson carved. As all history did, the history of Michael Jackson will repeat again and again in the history of mass culture.”

Entering the gallery, viewers may experience a time travel going back to Michael Jackson’s childhood days when he debuted as a black kid from his heyday as a king or an icon of mass culture. Through the images of Michael Jackson who was considered a great king of mass culture and discarded by the public, Donghyun Son provides viewers with an opportunity to think over once again a wide variety of issues and feelings we face in our times.

Thanks rockstar! If you can post that youtube I would really appreciate it. I am going to have to delete some of your news because it is just repeating the same thing over about the house and in the news thread we should want new news not things that have already been posted. I like the news piece you found about the paintings very interesting. :D

Re: January 9, 2009

I don't know how to put a youtube video. Can someone help me?

I wanted to show the Japanese competition that they had with Michael Jackson impersonator and Luis Armstrong impersonator but I can't seem to put up the darn youtube video. Thank you for whomever can help. The link is http://www.inquisitr.com/14912/japanese-impersonators-michael-jackson-vs-louis-armstrong/

from the you tube site directly it is quite simple.

Right from the shown video screen there is a box that is titled embed, click into the box and the background is marked, copy with clicking right, your menue opens, choose copy, or copy only the URL, there is a box titled URL.

Despite using your menue you can copy with the symbol copy of your browser.

Now you can add the embed text (this shows the whole video right here) or the url into the message box here.

If you want the link to the you tube site from a website, go to the symbol under the screen very below right, click the symbol you can see there. It appears the URL and the embed code, do the same as described before. I hope I could help and my explanation is understandable.

It will appear in this way:

Michael Jackson Mentions:

Aww... Robin Leach noticed that MJ left Vegas!

By Robin Leach ·

http://www.lasvegassun.com/blogs/ro...michael-jackson-leaves-vegas-bel-air-mansion/

* Pop royal Michael Jackson has apparently given up on plans for jump-starting his career with a permanent show here in Las Vegas. He’s moved out of town, and overnight reports from Los Angeles say he’s leased a Bel Air gated estate for at least 12 months. The whopping annual rental of $1.2 million gives him a mansion in the style of a French chateau and comes with 12 fireplaces, 13 bathrooms, a wine cellar and tasting room, a theater and seven bedrooms -- just about the perfect size for Michael and his three kids.

The property was one of the most expensive homes listed for sale in 2008, according to real estate experts, but was taken off the market after Michael signed the $100,000-a-month lease. It’s believed that Michael’s real estate dealings with Las Vegas Hilton owner and Station Casinos investor Tom Barrack of Colony Capital provided him with sufficient monies for the Bel Air mansion. Colony and Michael entered into a joint venture when the pop star moved to Vegas and surrendered title to the Neverland Ranch to develop the 120 acres of Santa Barbara land.

Mentionings for Jan 11, 2009:

Romeo Ne-Yo on his dream dates with the Pussycat Dolls

The star almost blew the chance to work with Michael Jackson on his comeback album after slamming the phone down on the King of Pop.

He said: "I got a call from Michael but I didn't believe it was him and hung up.
About 10 minutes later he came back on the line and I lied I got cut off driving in a tunnel. I've written songs for him."

We've done work for Michael Jackson, the late Sidney Sheldon and Kirk Douglas, but Bank of America is the job I'm most proud of.
It was the hardest thing we've done because of the sheer volume of glass involved. We worked 10 hours a day and weekends to get it done. The texture was complex; and so was the shipping. There were 400 pieces that had to be shipped from California to Manhattan without breaking, and we did it.
