By the way, ever since the BAD tour, MJ said that he wasn't going to tour anymore. Then he did Dangerous. Again he said he wouldn't tour anymore. There was History. As much as he hated touring, he loved his audience. He loved entertaining them. He loved doing the actual concerts. I think he couldn't stay away from it even if he wanted. And TII was not a tour anyway, but a semi-permanent venue, makes all the difference.
Didn't he also said that he wanted to do 10 concerts in O2, and after take his tour to other places/countries?
the ten concerts was used as a teaser to gain public responce as said during the trial. the contract was always a minimum of was it 19 and a max of 31. and they talked about taking the show on the road afterwards depending on how things went but it never went futher than that if i remember the testimony right

Where is this coming from, are there any proofs or is it just a speculation?
I have to admit I also thought he was different but couldnt figure out what...this is the first time i hear about "the drinking"..
I'm just trying to be neutral and realistic here. I know how emails can come across sometimes, usually in a much harsher way then the writer intended. To me it seems the mails were written almost in disbelief too.
And god knows, when I'm anxious/nervous about something someone else needs to be doing on my account and they're not doing it the way I want it, I talk crap too. No matter how much I respect or love that person. We're all just humans, humans who gossip about our loved ones and humans who get angry at our loved ones.
This isnt the first time someone says MJ was drunk during the press conference. Back in 2011 Dr MUrrays team said this too.
"Lawyers for Dr Conrad Murray have alleged Michael Jackson was drunk at the announcement of his This Is It tour in London.
Michael Jackson's news conference started 90 minutes late because the singer was unconscious backstage, Dr Murray's defence team have told a judge.
The claim comes as the Houston cardiologist is due to stand trial for involuntary manslaughter.
His lawyers claim to have video taken backstage at the news conference in March 2009 in which it is "readily apparent" that Jackson "was under the influence".
However, the judge presiding over the trial has ruled against the footage being shown in court, deeming it irrelevant because it occurred months before Jackson died. "
After all, I would think if Jackson's wanted to show how bad AEG was towards Michael, this got to be the worst what they have, so I assume (fingers crossed) that the worst is behind.
I don't mind if he was drinking alcohol from time to time but if he was drunk by the press conference I really dislike that. I mean he was working then and how do you feel if someone else is drunk while working? It is only okay by artists? He was a father to three minor children. It is responsible to be drunk than? Really I don't mind him drinking in private on a moderate level but if this is true this would be disgusting for me.

I can understand your feelings, but quite frankly I've been absolutely amazed MJ handled things as well as he did. This was someone who had been brutalized, dehumanized, ripped to shreds in a public arena, on trial literally for his life, and all he ever wanted to do was make people happy and the world a better place. Now he was about to put himself out there again. He once was NEVER nervous to go out on a stage, it was home for him, and now the prospect of it consumed him with fear and self doubt.
When I watch the TII DVD where they showed him backstage before he was about to go out there with that announcement, his fear was tangible. And when he got out there and saw the love still felt for him, that relief was tangible as well. He in fact seemed overwhelmed by it. I was in tears for him, remembering what had brought him to this place that was now difficult for him to even contemplate.
Yeah, I realize I'm making excuses for him, but I'll be honest with you, I don't give a s*** that he was drunk or not before he put himsef before the masses again. I am extremely glad he pulled it together before he hit the podium, or he would have been further brutalized. But what happened that day has nothing to do with the kind of father he was. He was a GREAT father. He was also a scared human being about to put himself in a public arena again and that arena had nearly literally destroyed him.
MJ often said people don't know what it's like to be him. My imagination isn't good enough to even begin to know the damage that had been done to his psyche, but what I do know of people who are NOT artists, but just out here privately trying to make it everyday, again...it makes me marvel the strength he did have.

This is purely speculation on my part, but I was wondering if the same happened to Michael that happened in the morning of MSG concert 2001? I know some people will get mad for bringing this out but there are so much similarities with what happen in press conference 2009 (whether Michael was drunk or he might have taken painkillers) and in the morning of MSG concert 2001. Some of you have read Frank Cascio's book and are familiar with the story (page 218), so Randy P could have been mistaken Michael being drunk rather than taken painkillers?
Wasn't MJ human? Was he not allowed to have moments of self-doubt?

Of course he could have as many moments of self-doubt as he wants to have but I was referring to to "drunk while working" part. And "drunk while being a parent".
I am a social worker who has worked with parents who drank too much and I am sick and tired of every excuse for getting drunk.
He was Michael Jackson but he was also a father with responsibilties and I see him only as a father not as the superstar on that matter.
I wonder if this footage will be involved in any of these lawsuits, and if it is, if it means we will see it.
