I love it.. I think the lyrics, and vocals are GREAT..
The instramentation, I like the styling and layering of it.. But it is cheezy effects to it.. BUT!! whatever..
I think it would have sounded even better if they took the acapella version and layed it on new instramentals.. Same stlying and layering, just different instraments.. More modern.
It was probably a demo, not the same sound as it would if it were released.. Instramentation sounded kinda like what Mike uses when he works at home etc. When he brings a couple instramentalists to come over.. Not a FULL production.. just a demo.
Finalized would have sounded cooler..

Quincy didn't want Smooth Criminal on bad either...and Bad w/o SC is just a crime to humanity :lol:
That's not saying he's a bad producer though. It just says that MJ had as good a hand in Thriller/Bad's success as Q did.

that's the important part. and MJ was in the business many years before he met Quincy. so MJ has the knowledge as well. i know it's easy to believe a tyke can be without knowledge, but MJ was born with it.:yes:
also, the genius about MJ is that many fans do not think that the Q albums are his best. a lot of MJ fans got on board with MJ's much later stuff.
and one more note....the timing of the release of got the hots is brilliant. so MJ can have the genius of picking what he ultimately did for Thriller, and then releasing Got the Hots NOW. so we have the best of both worlds.

I know Got The Hots is out and online now, but staff can we somehow set up a rule where when something like. "Should we post" or NOT, comes up that we HAVE to get permission first??
I mean some songs are basically illegal to use here, than others we allow to get shared.
I think it would be really great if we just have to get an O.K before we share unreleased material, and material that is not available everywhere..
SOMETHING set up.. NOT TOO strict, but something to make things right.

It sounds more like it was written as he was coming out of his toilet. After Sitting On The Toilet.. Honestly, I think this song is VERY ex tempore. Q said they didn't have time for "all that intellectual stuff" but actually with that stuff this song could be much better. It sounds way too complex and mostly it's hard to define. Songs are great if you can sing-a-long and you can hardly sing-a-long with this, only if you have diarrhea or smoked something.

Actually, many member go there during the day.I know this should be in the Thriller 25 section but not everyone goes in there and checks the Got The Hot's thread so I thought i'd make a new thread here.
Anyway, the full version of Got The Hot's is up on youtube for everyone to listen to. I thought it was worth making a new thread seen as it's not everyday we get to listen to a brand new MJ demo

Quincy Jones didn't want "Billie Jean" to be called "Billie Jean" and he wanted to cut out the intro. He thought it was too long. He also didn't want "Smooth Criminal" on "Bad", and he asked Michael if he would rather have "Streetwalker" or "Another Part Of Me" on "Bad", and Michael said he didn't care, since he'd written both, and Quincy chose "APOM".
Michael doesn't need anyone and he's not going back to do a full album with Quincy again. I don't even think Quincy could keep up with that kind of pace now anyway.
Everyone always trips on the snythisizers, but I like them. They're just an instrument, just like any other. Nobody bitches about 60s records sounding dated because of all the achustic guitar and types of arrangements. If the song is good, its good, no matter what instruments its using or not. I love this song. It's got that killer chorus and vocal layering, the rhythm and beat is wicked, and Michael's vocals are amazing.

With regards to APOM and Streetwalker, on the Bad SE release, Q said he wanted to do APOM, Michael wanted Streetwalker. Him, MJ and Frank Dileo sat down and they voted on which one got to be on Bad. ^^ Personally, I agree with Quincy. Streetwalker wouldn't have fit the flow on Bad at all.
I think that Quincy was good for Michael in the 80s, but at the same time, Michael has done so many fantastic songs without him. Michael can hold his own without Quincy, he's proven it time and time again.

mannn can one of you guys remix this song and make it even funkyer so i can really dance to thiss man i love it!!! someone please remix this song and kinda make an extended dance version like with a 80s and 08 sound like tgim 08 and the cheater remix.
