Remember not all British people speak like that, some people speak properly with little slang.

London and the UK is very muti-cultural so if you use your own words and phrases, you'll be fine for most of the time but it helps to know what the local's slang mean.

I love it when I hear someone say "...and Bob's your uncle."

Man I want to thank you all for clearing up the whole "JACKET POTATOES".. I was like wth is that.. wouldn't think it was bake potato..smh..Well I will make sure to have one of those when I arrive, I want to be able to tell my friends I had a jacket potato...I LUV IT!!

Jelly is called 'jam' to us.
We sometimes say pudding and not dessert lol.
Fall is called Autumn.
In a restaurant, when you want the check, we say "can I have the bill please?". (not check lol).
We call trash cans, dust bins.
An apartment is called a 'flat' here.

This is more English than London itself lol.

Lol, those terms can be used here in the UK as well and it will be fine, i say things like trash can and apartment all the time.

Please lets not confuse people lol, it's not as complicated as it sounds.

I'm not confusing people...

A lot of American and other foreign fans don't know these terms. :)
 
This thread is soooo funny seeing u guys tryna work out london words.. its all so normal 2 me.. im actually LOL :cheeky: and LMAO 2 the jacket potato discussion :p
