Mark Geragos on His Client Frank Cascio vs Michael Jackson

I wanna know too ... are ALL the accusations thrown out?
No, it means the dispute will go into arbitration, which means it will be handled behind closed doord, not in public and a judge will decide, not a jury. Sort of like the HBO lawsuit. Remember the contract MJ signed with HBO in 1992 had an arbitration clause. So a judge sided with the Estate on it, and so we never heard of it again because it was handled behind closed doors.

Merci de ne plus poster en français. Je ne veux pas être impoli, mais ce site est anglophone et nous ne vous comprenons pas. Je suis désolé de devoir ignorer vos messages, surtout quand ils sont si longs.
Si "long" ? J'ai dû en poster 3, très courts !

Je ne parle pas anglais, désolée. Mais j'ai compris le message, je supprime mon compte alors:(
Merci pour "l'accueil". Bonne journée et bonne continuation à vous.

So this would mean that whatever the family were paid in 2019/2020 could have to be be paid back? They broke the "contract" by speaking out this week.

To a passing person, reading that the MJ Estate is "dealing with abuse allegations behind closed doors" could very well be the message that comes across here, when we (here) know that's not the case.

Yes, if the Estate wins in arbitration, the Cascios will have to pay back every penny AND then some….AND……and here comes the reply to the second part in your comment:

Yes, while the arbitration would be done behind closed doors….and that could sound ”bad” for the average public….don’t forget that if the Estate wins in arbitration they WOULD be allowed to issue a starement saying they won and that the judge found it to be a ”shake down”. And that would also mean that the fedeeal lawsuit that the siblings filed, will not go anywhere. It would be permanently iced. None of the Cascios would ever again be able to mention Michael. And if they can’t pay back the money they received AND the Estate’s legal fees AND the interest, the Estate could seize their houses, their income, book royalties…EVERYTHING they own, UNTIL its ALL paid. And if it’s found to be extortion and done with malice, they can’t file bankruptcy to get out if it. They will be paying for as long as they have paid back every penny, including any integest that would be accumulating if they take very long to pay. it bsck. They would also most likely have to pay for all the legal fees that the federal lawsuit accumulated for the Estate too.

So while yes, the arbitration happening behind closed doors sounds ”bad”, the Estate CAN say they won. And the Cascios won’t be allowed to say a peep adter that. EVER.

I was actually wrong about us never having heard about the HBO case afterwards. I remembered wrong. HBO and the Estate acrually came into an agreement and HBO immediately removed Leaving Neverland from all of its platforms. While we don’t know the details of the arbitration or the details of the agreement, we know they made an agreement. The removal of Leaving Neverland and the multimillion dollar agreement pretty much indicates it was a win for the Estate. I doubt they’d be willing to settle with the Cascios. At least I hope they won’t because they have a really stonh case and a win would be a huge win against all the possible future gold diggers trying to make a buck with false accusations. The Casciis already havr the grifter stamp in the public eye but a win would make it official, once and for all.

You’re probably not the only one here who doesn’t perfectly understand English. But if you use Google Translate to understand things better, the least you can do is also use it to post in English. No one wants a forum where there are as many languages as nationalities in every post.
