You'll be like ...I can't believe we are getting a big blockbuster MJ biopic. The circle is completed. I will probably watch this on tv every time it gets broadcasted![]()

The person more or less admitted that they made it up bc they're bored. I don't think they had any ill intent. Some people didn't like it, which is fair enough. I just think everyone is going stir crazy, lol.Another case of someone posting their guess as if it's a factual statement lol.
You're not wrong but I can understand people speculating/being a bit frustrated/going stir crazy. There were rumours going around that there would be a trailer revealed at San Diego Comic Con and, ngl, I did get a bit caught up in that, lol. I didn't really believe it but I did get madly over-excited and was very hopeful. Until someone on the board very kindly pointed out that Lionsgate most likely wouldn't reveal a trailer at a comic event. A film event, sure, but probably not a comic thing. Which made sense. So I had to calm down! These predictions as to when the teaser is supposed to come out have been flat out wrong (June 25th, Jaafar/MJ's birthday, Comic Con, all wrong) and I don't think there's gonna be a concrete date whatsoever.
This is what I really believe and, also, am hoping for. I think dropping it without any announcement, teasing, online hoo-ha will be perfect. And hilarious!I think the teaser is simply gonna drop randomly when everyone least expects it lol
True, it's completely fair to expect something on an event but when people expect something on a certain date like a birthday, an album anniversary and things like that I think they're just setting themselves up for disappointment. I wouldn't hype myself up if all of those date predictions turned out to be wrong, is pretty much what I'm trying to say lol. You're not wrong but I can understand people speculating/being a bit frustrated/going stir crazy. oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, that does make sense. I did wonder if more cast names might be revealed on Michael's birthday and, of course, that didn't happen. But, otherwise, pinning your hopes on any specific date probably isn't going to work.True, it's completely fair to expect something on an event but when people expect something on a certain date like a birthday, an album anniversary and things like that I think they're just setting themselves up for disappointment. That makes sense, especially with Ariana in the film (she's mentioned Michael as one of her inspirations). It's out in the US late November, I think, so time-wise it would work. It's most likely going to premiere ahead of wicked. Very similar (musical) and a highly anticipated movie which will bring lots of eyeballs in theaters ahead of the holidays
You should see Kendrick Lamar fans trying to determine when he's gonna drop his next album lol. It's been a long standing series of coping.True, it's completely fair to expect something on an event but when people expect something on a certain date like a birthday, an album anniversary and things like that I think they're just setting themselves up for disappointment. Completely off-topic but your Pulitzer thread got me looking around and I discovered that Kendrick Lamar was the first artist from a genre other than jazz or classical to win the Pulitzer prize for music. You should see Kendrick Lamar fans trying to determine when he's gonna drop his next album lol. Yeah that's what inspired my thread. It's a very unique high mark.Completely off-topic but your Pulitzer thread got me looking around and I discovered that Kendrick Lamar was the first artist from a genre other than jazz or classical to win the Pulitzer prize for music.
Is there a poster? I've only seen fan-made ones.Gta 6 dropped a trailer 10 months ago for a game not due until late 2025... yet this movie is 6 months away & we have nothing but a poster. The Estate makes every project unexciting by far.

oh, that one. Yeah, forgot about that. The only one they released with Jafaar performance of man in the mirror
Movies and games are not the same.Gta 6 dropped a trailer 10 months ago for a game not due until late 2025... yet this movie is 6 months away & we have nothing but a poster. The Estate makes every project unexciting by far.
Kinda just depends on your definition of "discovered" I guess. Not real familiar with Laura Harrier so I don't know why she would say that Suzanne de Passe 'discovered' the Jackson 5. It would be weird if the production company asked her to say this. I assume she just slightly misspoke since these type of interviews are always very rushed and superficial and don't really give the actor time to think.
Anyway, posting as FYI in the absence of anything else, lol.
Not taking anything away from Suzanne's importance. It was her getting cast that really got me properly excited about this project. There weren't loads of female managers in the music industry in the 1960's / 70's. Very happy that her contribution is being recognised. But, ngl, I still don't think her management of J5 qualifies as 'discovering' them. But it's fine. As long as she makes it into the final cut I'll be pleased.Kinda just depends on your definition of "discovered" I guess.
