"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

If i understand the news correctly they will focus on the beginning and the prime of Michael in the first movie.

If the movie is a big success there will be a second one that will cover his life from the late 80s until his death and obviously gotta address the allegations.

The release of the second part doesn’t depend on the first part’s success. We are getting two movies no matter waht.

Hopefully we will get the soundtrack with the release of the first movie haha.
Cant wait to hear the unreleased stuff 😁

I sincerely hope it’s two movies, and I’m massively disappointed and frustrated that they apparently won’t cover the allegations and later years. This was the big chance to finally show the public who still believe in the allegations what really went down, but nope, instead they apparently won’t and will let things like Leaving Neverland 1 and possibly 2 thrive in the media core that hates Michael. Just disgusting and sad
Newsflash, they literally casted the sheriff from the trial in the movie with a actor who looks just like him. They never said they won't cover the allegations, just not mention Chandler. You can work around that, also the bigger issue is the dehumanization of Michael which allows such bullshit like the allegations to exist in the first place. They are doing the right thing by celebrating Michael and humanizing his life rather than letting the allegations overshadow the runtime. All of this doom and gloom leads me to believe you guys don't truly like Michael in the first place.

The fact that there have been people cast for 1) Johnnie Cochran 2) LAPD officers 3) Santa Barbara Sargent would confirm that yes, the allegations will be addressed. If they weren’t going to address them, they wouldn’t have cast these roles

Maybe the second movie focuses exclusively on the allegations and the trial? That would be the best way to handle this if the first movie doesn't address the allegations at all.

Massive flop incoming will do absolutely nothing for Michael’s legacy other than a few extra streams on Spotify or YouTube.

child abuser, nonce etc are names that will continue to be associated with MJ unless this movie could set the record straight.

The biggest opportunity ever to tell Michael’s story as it should, warts and all and this will fail miserably to do that.

So...according to the article here it's going to be a nice easy biopic. We didn't have it easy though did we ...if we did then M wouldn't be 6 feet under would he. ? He would have been able to finish the Dangerous /htw/ Tour. I hope the article is honestly really just a might be maybe.

Obviously don't know if that report is true or not. If it is then I guess the second movie would be more about the later part of his life.

I'm still kinda scratching my head at how they're gonna rework that. Unless they are just starting from scratch for the second. With the amount of stuff already invested I very much doubt that, though.

Problem is, though, those roles were cast and filming was done for the original version. Doesn't sound like any of that stuff will make it into the final version. 🤷🏽‍♀️

This from back in May 👇
Nothing from the Chandler allegations will be in this movie. It’s all been cut, hence the filming of additional scenes.

They could shift attention to 2005 and put that in part two. Right now there's no way to know what their intentions are. It's a 'wait and see' situation, imo.

Surely that alone would be a sufficient proof that it will be a two-parter as well... Much to much content to be covered in one (regularly sized) movie.

They're just taking the cowards way out.

Imagine a Freddie Mercury film that tried to pretend he didn't have AIDS, or a Kurt Cobain film that tried to pretend he didn't take drugs. Everybody else leans in to the controversy - that's why those people are interesting and respected.

I'm sick of half the people trying to cancel the first part of Michael's life, and the other half trying to cancel the final part of Michael's life.

OK. to address that last line @IhateTheMedia I like Michael . Alot. And along with recognising his international success and humanitarian efforts I want this movie as gritty, lowdown, and as brutally honest as it possibly can be. Michael was a generous and benevolent human who got taken advantage of. The concern is some of us went through this with him, and I think we who also felt that pain whilst going to the courthouse every day / supporting him -day in, day out for the last 30+ years would like for the whole story to be told. (If these recent reports are true of course)

There has not been anything indicating that the sheriff from the trial was casted. I'm not sure where this confusion comes in.

"Square One", as a documentary, did an incredible job of doing this: Evan Chandler recognizing and using Michael's weak point of his genuine love for children, the betrayal at every turn by the media, even part of his family at one point (LaToya*), despite the fact that Michael staunchly refused to settle and continued to defend himself up to that point; with this wall of injustice enclosing him, even the law isn't on his side: Michael is then forced to a strip search for ultimately no purpose. By the mid-point of the film where all that has built up, the film revealing the state of Michael in his '93 Neverland statement makes me feel emotional every watch.

A well-executed biopic could do something next-level. Michael's story deserves that sympathy; that's where I come from at least.

I understand the desire for the mainline of the biopic to celebrate his work. I also want the world to see that he continued to triumph despite what he went through; Michael's HIStory album covered the allegations, two years after they occurred, for a reason. Michael himself didn't want that injustice left out of his story.

Leaving the truth about the allegations unmentioned is just as ineffective as concealing the background to MJ's lightening skin. Viewers will then fill in the missing information from the content they've seen in the press. It's clear that this won't end well.
The Michael film seems to become a similar debacle to the Michael album.
I hope I'm wrong.

Confirmed: Michael Jackson Movie Will Be a Celebration of His Heyday, Not a Courtroom Drama or Downer

EXCLUSIVE

As I told you last night, the Michael Jackson movie, “Michael,” will be a celebration of the King of Pop’s life.
There won’t be any courtroom drama. No discussion of arrests, accusations, lawsuits, etc.

Michael’s death will not be included.

“Michael,” like the “MJ” musical, will tell the story of the Jacksons growing up, forming the Jackson Five, and the success of the group as kids.

Then we’ll get the story of how Michael triumphed with “Off the Wall,” “Thriller,” and “Bad.” The movie is going to end on a high note and not sully Michael’s memory.

This makes sense. The audience is not going to see a documentary. This is a musical entertainment. We’re going to find out what his childhood was like, and how the great hits were composed and performed.

That’s a relief. Michael’s fans want to be entertained. Again, we are going to love this movie, directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars Michael’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in what could be a star making role. John Logan — who has incredible credits — wrote the screenplay.

I’m told “Michael” will also have a normal run time of two to two and a half hours. The final cut hasn’t been delivered yet.

So we wait until April 24, 2026.
My guess is audiences will be dancing down the aisles. 💃

Silencing the allegations won't put them to rest. That didn't work 30 years ago.
I, personally, want to LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AND CELEBRATE having lived on Earth the
same time and place as when God allowed his Angel Michael Jackson to come for a visit. 🌹💕
