Maybe the second movie focuses exclusively on the allegations and the trial? That would be the best way to handle this if the first movie doesn't address the allegations at all.

Problem is, though, those roles were cast and filming was done for the original version. Doesn't sound like any of that stuff will make it into the final version. The fact that there have been people cast for 1) Johnnie Cochran 2) LAPD officers 3) Santa Barbara Sargent would confirm that yes, the allegations will be addressed. If they weren’t going to address them, they wouldn’t have cast these roles
Nothing from the Chandler allegations will be in this movie. It’s all been cut, hence the filming of additional scenes.
Surely that alone would be a sufficient proof that it will be a two-parter as well... Much to much content to be covered in one (regularly sized) movie. The fact that there have been people cast for 1) Johnnie Cochran 2) LAPD officers 3) Santa Barbara Sargent would confirm that yes, the allegations will be addressed. If they weren’t going to address them, they wouldn’t have cast these roles
OK. to address that last line @IhateTheMedia I like Michael . Alot. And along with recognising his international success and humanitarian efforts I want this movie as gritty, lowdown, and as brutally honest as it possibly can be. Michael was a generous and benevolent human who got taken advantage of. The concern is some of us went through this with him, and I think we who also felt that pain whilst going to the courthouse every day / supporting him -day in, day out for the last 30+ years would like for the whole story to be told. (If these recent reports are true of course)Newsflash, they literally casted the sheriff from the trial in the movie with a actor who looks just like him. They never said they won't cover the allegations, just not mention Chandler. You can work around that, also the bigger issue is the dehumanization of Michael which allows such bullshit like the allegations to exist in the first place. They are doing the right thing by celebrating Michael and humanizing his life rather than letting the allegations overshadow the runtime. All of this doom and gloom leads me to believe you guys don't truly like Michael in the first place.
There has not been anything indicating that the sheriff from the trial was casted. I'm not sure where this confusion comes in.Newsflash, they literally casted the sheriff from the trial in the movie with a actor who looks just like him. "Square One", as a documentary, did an incredible job of doing this: Evan Chandler recognizing and using Michael's weak point of his genuine love for children, the betrayal at every turn by the media, even part of his family at one point (LaToya*), despite the fact that Michael staunchly refused to settle and continued to defend himself up to that point; with this wall of injustice enclosing him, even the law isn't on his side: Michael is then forced to a strip search for ultimately no purpose. By the mid-point of the film where all that has built up, the film revealing the state of Michael in his '93 Neverland statement makes me feel emotional every watch.OK. to address that last line @IhateTheMedia I like Michael . Well with me you got your wish.Michael's fans want the allegations to no longer cast a shadow over his art. That's what we truly want.
Silencing the allegations won't put them to rest. That didn't work 30 years ago.Well with me you got your wish.![]()
I, personally, want to LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AND CELEBRATE having lived on Earth theSilencing the allegations won't put them to rest. That didn't work 30 years ago.
The music already exists, just listen to it. But a biopic encompasses more than just that.I, personally, want to LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AND CELEBRATE having lived on Earth the
same time and place as when God allowed his Angel Michael Jackson to come for a visit.![]()
When it concerns Michael Jackson, I don't give a flying leap about other people's opinions. The music already exists, just listen to it. But a biopic encompasses more than just that.
I want the biopic to be a kick in the balls to all those who have his reputation on their conscience.
This is not the original take of the Estate or any of those who took part in the film making process. They originally planned to address the allegations, millions of dollars were spent specifically around the filming they did on the topic.Poor estate. They thought the audience was MJ fans. And they thought the biopic was a shameless chance to promote MJ's music.
They were wrong in both counts.
