Michael Jackson Scream - The Album

One thing I cannot complain about is the artwork. It's beautiful. Certainly the best album cover from the estate.

Is this the first MJ release to include "Somebody's Watching Me"?

Just heard the mashup & I like it. Like others have said, it feels like there is a lot going on and some hee hees and aows seem out of place but overall, it's quite good.

Since it's somewhat on topic, I have to share an old Threatened video I made years back.. There was some gradient lighting issues, I used crappy software but definitely set movements to the music, lyrics go fairly well with the footage as well..

I think this over time might do quite well. No1's and Essentials are still selling and regularly chart, plus it introduces some of his later music to the public that may not buy his whole albums. Don't know if I'll get it as I have the songs already, but that cover art might just draw me in. Like others have said though I don't get why Is It Scary wasn't on there. Seriously..
I liked the mashup overall although I thought it started out stronger than it finished.

Well I am really looking forward to it, Cause I´m a collector in the first way. The second, it is possible that there could be some alternate vocals, as we can clearly hear them in mashup... (first dangerous vocals in itroduction, and the whole is it scary part is different than the album version. It is not only pitched, but the phrasing is different and it is much smoother) Same coomes with some vocals for BOTDF, it sounds very fresh, clear :)
 
I always look foward to Thrillers sales to get a bump around Halloween.. This album will steal some sales from it.

Yeah I hope it doesn't mess with Thriller's annual dominance at this time of year. I've always found it to be really impressive how that song comes back every October.

It's on Spotify. I use the Spotify Connect feature of my Marantz amp so I can stream the highest quality version directly from their servers.

One thing I enjoy about this project though, it's the teaser with the reveal of the album cover.
 
It only now just registered with me:

This is a MASHUP.

I feel as though some people are expecting a megamix a la "Immortal Megamix," where there's a clear purpose for the mix, but it's not. This is a mashup, similar to this video, which is more like finding a beat and then matching whatever song you want to that beat. It's a very unique thing, and it's certainly not for everyone.

Me? I love it. Far preferred over a traditional remix.

Same. No way in hell I'm gonna pay $100+ for those. I'd be too afraid to even take them out and play them if I did lol.

I emailed the estate yesterday about the album and whether or not anymore announcements were coming soon.
Here's the response I got.

"Thanks for the positive feedback!

As you know, the Estate will announce things when they&#8217;re ready, and if there was more to be told at this point, Mr. Branca would have said so. Stay tuned to find out what the next announcement is (though remember, it could be any kind of announcement).

"Scream" should have been a DVD/blu-ray release with the new Thriller 3D, making of and off course Ghosts in HD all together on Disc.

Yes I think the vocals are way too loud. MJ sounds great and nice to hear certain background vocals up front, but hard to vibe to the music. Way too many randomly placed "Aaow"s and "hoos". The mix starts and ends well, but gets a bit chaotic in the middle, Leave Me Alone doesn't really fit. This whole project is a nice idea, but seems a bit poorly executed.

I will say I like the promo. Missed opportunity to release Ghosts and Thriller DVD/Blu ray at same time. (I'm really disappointed about this).
