The Estate is approaching Scream in the same manner that most modern recording artists approach holiday albums -- when that time of year rolls around, they're gonna push it and hope for a little sales bump. Will the album become a classic? Most likely no. Will other similarly-themed albums sell better? Without a doubt. But it's still something worth doing, and it's far better than a standard "compilation".
I was in New York yesterday and saw quite a bit of promo for it on the various billboards. Finally picked it up today.
Hating this project seems pointless at this juncture. At best, it's a themed compilation album that brings some less-appreciated songs to the forefront for the general public to finally recognize; at worst, it fades as another MJ collection. Why people are calling it "stupid" and "ridiculous" and "silly" is completely beyond me.
