Michael Jackson's 60th Birthday Celebration 2018 Worldwide

One of my local radio stations featured Michael (and the Jacksons) all day. And I got to go into the studio and to talk about Michael's philantropy and his connection with his fans.

I must give Sony and the MJ estate credit, they have created quite the event today. My local radio station (one of Toronto's hottest) played several MJ songs, for 15-20 minutes at a time! His music was all over the radio today, with several shout outs for his 60th bday. He's trending on Twitter all around the world, has huge shout outs from celebrities, news articles from everyone, the Hugo Boss suit promotion, Thriller 3D announcement, the BBC radio marathon in the UK, the Vegas celebration, the RIAA certification announcement, the statue in the UK erected today of that crown, a big event at the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland. I just feel that no stone has been left unturned. They nailed it, MJ would have been SO happy to see all the love he's received.

Michael Jackson will forever be remembered as one of the century's greatest entertainers, and in honor of what would have been his 60th birthday, the King of Pop's family, friends and big-name fans came together for a celebration of his life and legacy.
The Michael Jackson Diamond Celebration, held at Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas, featured a special performance of Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson 'One' show, where the singer was honored with the 2018 Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation Legacy Award for Humanitarian Service. Two of the singer's children, Paris and Prince Michael, accepted the posthumous award on his behalf.
On the red carpet before the gala event, ET's Kevin Frazier spoke with Paris and Prince who reflected how they are honoring their late father on this milestone anniversary of his life.
"Being here today is definitely an awe-inspiring feeling, because our father was the King of Pop and he did so much," Prince said, with his sister by his side. "He did so much for the music industry, but I think he put emphasis and importance on the charitable contributions to humanity that he really used his platform to [support]."
The icon's 21-year-old progeny added that, for his father, receiving the Legacy Award, which recognizes the singer's philanthropic efforts, "Would make him prouder, I assume, than the musical accomplishments that he has been able to [achieve]."
It's been just over nine years since the "Thriller" artist died at his mansion in Los Angeles, and for his kids, the loss was something they've endured together. As Paris explained to ET, they remember and respect their father in a way that means something special to them, and in a way that can really only be appreciated by one another.
"We honor him in our own way, and I don't really expect anyone else to understand besides this dude right here," Paris said of her brother. "I'm just happy to be with him."
Among the many other celebs who came out to pay tribute to the late, great megastar were his brothers, Tito and Jackie Jackson, along with Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson, Vanessa Hudgens, Usher, Gabrielle Union, and Mark Ronson.

I spent yesterday in London celebrating Michael's birthday, and it was amazing.
We started early by blasting his music all the way there - 3 hours of Michael!
First, we went to the NPG for the On The Wall exhibition, which was fantastic. There were so many beautiful photos and portraits, and there was a room that played the Bucharest performance of Jam on a loop, and a huge Dangerous photo that took up the whole wall, and it was the entrance to the next room (the part under Michael's eyes was an archway).
When you got tickets, there was someone handing out posters if your moonwalk was good. I got a poster
There were so many people there; I've never seen so many MJ shirts in my life, and there were people wearing Thriller and Beat It jackets, and loafers, and fedoras; it was amazing to see.
There were also lots of young kids, who were having the time of their lives; it was adorable. And it was great to see that Michael's legacy has lived on.
After that, we went to the Moonwalker screening at the BFI. I managed to get seats in the front row, almost centre, and from what I saw, it was almost a full house. They had his music playing while we waited for the film to start, and when it did, the experience was amazing. It was so great to be with my people, you know? These weren't casual MJ fans; these were the ones who know every "hee-hee," grunt and vocal hiccup.
From the moment the film started, there was cheering; when Michael's feet walked out, cheering, Man in the Mirror, cheering, the retrospective, cheering with every song change.
It was so nice to know that I'm not the only person that know Moonwalker word for word; most everyone was quoting it, and laughing out loud "would ya autograph my tummy?"
"Aw, I love that smile," at the end of Speed Demon.
More cheers when he turned into the car, when Smooth Criminal started, and when he did the lean, and when he turned into the robot and the spaceship.
When Katie said "I wish he would come back," there was a collective "me, too." More cheers when he returned, and yet more for "Come Together."
Everyone even stayed throughout the credits, singing along to The Moon is Walking, and for the short version of Smooth Criminal.
There was an after party, but we sadly couldn't stay for it, as we had a long drive home.
It was a fantastic experience, and I really felt the love for Michael yesterday.

I'm quite crazy about this jacket that Prince is wearing. A perfect blend of the military/varsity jacket. Like his hair tousled a bit too.
Paris also looks good but sorry she didn't go for something "Michaelesque" or keep that gorgeous Stevie Nicks hair.
Enough on how they look. I'm proud of those kids continuing the philanthropic work and I know Michael is prouder.

my gosh. Can't even imagine such a perfect wonderful day. Never had that kind of experience except maybe once-I worked a second job at a restaurant/bar in the 80's and a bunch of us took off work from our day jobs just to meet at the bar and watch the MTV Thriller premiere. (They had cable).
