Still strange that tha jacksons as a group didn't sell that much. for excample Triumph is a real good album, but didn't even sold 2 million copies worldwide. Well they sold about 7 million copies of Victory, but I think thats because of the hype of Thriller and the Victorytour (which even didn't contain any song of that album). I think it would have been nice if they had performed at least Torture live at the victoy tour.

there should be some links to this stuff. for history I've read anywhere from 18 mill to 20 mill and for invincible the highest number I ever saw wa 8 mill. when MJJ source was online during the trial it also said that bad sold either 28 mill or 30 mill. but not 33.

Here are some things you need to keep in mind. Garth Brooks only sold 112 million records during the 90's.
MJ's discography sales during the 90's defiantly surpasses that.
the only people to out sell MJ during the 90's is Celine Dion = 135 and Mariah Carey = 127
Now for MJ's sales during the 90's.
He released 2 main studio albums during the 90's. Dangerous and HIStory.
During the 90's Dangerous sold around 28 million copies.
During the 90's HIStory was at 18 million in sales.
so far thats 46 million from those 2 albums.
then we have other albums like Blood On the Dance Floor which did around 7 million by the end of the 90's.
So now we have a total of 53 million albums sold from the albums he released during that decade.
Then you have to consider his back catalog. By 1990 thriller was at 50 million copies sold. And it was reported that it sold 57 million by the end of the 90's.
So now thats 60 million albums sold during the 90's from those 4 albums.
Then you have to consider the back catalog of Off The Wall and Bad. by 1990 off the Wall was at around 11 million. And its currently at 20 million. And some reports claim it sold around 17 million.
So thats an extra 6 million sold from Off The Wall during the 90's. Which would bring it to 66 million sold during the 90's.
Then we go to Bad which was at 27 million by 1990. and was around 31 million by the end of the 90's.
Which would give another 4 million. Which is now at 70 million albums.
Then if you include another million some combined Motown sales. His album sales during the 90's are at 71 million.
So with 71 million albums sold from those 6 albums during that decade plus Other Motown albums.
then you have to include the sales and catalog sales from around 60 singles.
Which is way Mj has defiantly out sold Garth brooks that decade, which would make him the biggest selling male artist that decade.

A million sold from Motown Albums during the 90's is a conservative figure. Your acting like I said 5 or 10 million for Motown albums.
No, around a million for Motown albums is VERY reasonable. There were many Motown albums that were released during the 90's that sold in the 100 thousands.
MJ has sold around 97 million singles in total. And a good portion of that was during the singles released in the 90's.
And this all comes from very reliable sources.
To introduce this list of sources, I got a lot from chart expert Nelson(UKMix), who provided informations about all countries, searching and pointing out an incredible amount of official data, which helped immensely to know which artists are popular or not on areas where the data is very limited. A million sold from Motown Albums during the 90's is a conservative figure. Your acting like I said 5 or 10 million for Motown albums.
No, around a million for Motown albums is VERY reasonable. There were many Motown albums that were released during the 90's that sold in the 100 thousands.
MJ has sold around 97 million singles in total. And a good portion of that was during the singles released in the 90's.
And this all comes from very reliable sources.
To introduce this list of sources, I got a lot from chart expert Nelson(UKMix), who provided informations about all countries, searching and pointing out an incredible amount of official data, which helped immensely to know which artists are popular or not on areas where the data is very limited. The articles from Billboard and such referred earlier in this page have mainly been discovered by him, which is just a little part of his contribution. Edu(UKMix), just like Nelson, has been a great help for me years ago to understand precisely how everything around charts and sales works. Thanks to him too. and btw, the word - records - means albums and singles, not only albums, so count Garths "records" (albums and singles, of course, garth is limited only (of 95%) for the USA)

... and ... if Michael was presented with 110 million records award in 1990, if we counted other 150 million records since 1990, we would get only 250, or lets say 300 million records (albums?), so where are the 750 million records/abums?
The Jacksons have not sold over 200 million records!

what I'm saying is we need links. and i do not believe that MJ has sold millions of copies of his old albums since 2003. at the start of the trial mj number ones was released and that went on to sell like at least 6 million but to claim that history has been selling almost half a million a year for the last 10 years is out of the question. that is pretty high up on the charts for an old album that cost like 40 or 50 dollars. and no in 2003 no sources were putting invincible at 11 million. In 2003 his own website MJJ source had it at 8 million.

I was reading just a few years ago that the Jackson 5/Jacksons sold just over 100 million and they were inducted into some hall of fame for it.
