Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D

Hi to all!

Yesterday i have attended the premiere in Venice of Thriller 3D.

The quality is stunning: the video is in 4K, Landis did an amazing job!
There are scenes in 3D that are better then the original version of the video: the dance part with the zombies is incredible, Michael is really in front of us dancing!!!
Special applause to the quality of the sound! The building was near to explode! Amazing!

This really should be released in cinemas all around the world!!!

I hope you guys will be able to watch it in a cinema: it really is a different experience!

Branca looks like he can't stand Landis-look at his eyes when Landis uses the WJ term. He only laughs when Landis makes fun of himself.

I also noticed when he's alone he tells the interviewer about his role in getting the financing for Thriller-I'm sure when Landis came on next, he took full credit for it.


(And I'm pretty sure Gene Kelly was iconic for the white socks and loafers-Michael would have said Gene with that, not Fred, although Fred inspired a ton of other things).
 
Did he seriously say WJ!!??? I can't believe my ears. Of the bazillion things he could have said, he chose to use a phrase Michael abhorred at a tribute to Michael!! Low class, tacky, rude and a cheap shot Landis!!!

Yeah, I quite liked him to be honest, but he said some really strange things lately.. didn't he also say that Michael grew weirder and weirder? I think he said it when he was talking about Black or White some time ago.
So silly in a way, because he's not only there to promote Michael's work but also HIS. So why cast a shadow? Really sad.. because when you look at the making ofs, they seemed to have gotten along really well back then.. :/

Any review or something about the show itself ? Nobody care about Thriller 3D or what ?

This is sad indeed, the fact that he says that and the timing of it. It's just wrong.

I also notice that Landis clearly makes comments continuously about the fact that for him there is no other Mike than the 'Thriller' era Mike. After that he thinks MJ got weird. Seriously, this man need to excuse himself and choose his words cautiously.

Money is the root of all evil. Seriously.
 
So it seems like we'll get:

1. Thriller 3D in cinemas
2. Remastered Short Films (on Bluray???)
3. Scream Album

And maybe more (?)

I suppose, by the nature of their role, film directors are used to being 'unchallenged' in what they say (and do).

This interview wasn't the only time that Landis made an ass of himself in Venice. Here's a photo of him with the remainder of the 'Virtual Reality Film ' judging panel (and the festival director) at their photocall. If I'd have been the female judge, I would have been furious. I didn't see Landis behaving like this with any of the male judges... (The other males in this picture seem to have rather 'forced' smiles'....'I'm not with him').

Nice bit of 'body language' after the 'W J mention'......(Landis is oblivious): First registration, then disassociation, then a return to look at the camera....eurghh this is all being filmed.

I bet John is seething that they had to settle over the rights to Thriller. He's stuck with Landis for life.
 
So interesting, at work I can get into this thread fine but at home every time I try to open this thread I get an error.. all others work fine! IDK what the deal is.. Either way, it debuts tommorow right? I think I saw that date! 9/7
 
The only regret is Michael is not here to kick your ass for the buttom of his heart for W.J. reference
 
So it looks like it is showing today right? If so, Why is it so hard to see todays scheduled with it so we know what time it would be showing? It would be nice to know when to expect reactions.. just sayin'
 
I hope we get news on the home release at some point. I'm really excited about this. :)

I hope it will be bundled with the rest of the short films of the 'Scream' project, remastered from the original film reels, including 'Ghosts' in full length.

My thought exactly. - Maybe a Halloween box with Thriller and the making of - AND Ghosts and the making of.

Would be a great release. - Maybe even with more bonus material. - Maybe the 93 version of Ghosts. - Would be a great way to show how ideas evolved and how MJ worked etc.
 
I just wanna see the damn thing lol! format of the release often gets overlooked for me.. I just wanna see it

Why Ghosts though? There's an 1080i rip on this forum, including the Behind the Scenes. I hope they release the Victory Tour in DVD :D

Who the hell said DVD? I'm talking about the 2010 broadcast of Ghost, in excellent 1080i HD quality. You must be a billionaire if you had that resolution on your TV in 2004. If the Estate decides to release it, it would look the same because it was not edited on film, the special effects were edited on tape. So keep dreaming til they release a real HD version of Ghosts ;)
