What's being planned for MJ's birthday, if anything at all? Anyone know? I think something big needs to be done. I hope something will be planned to honor him on his birthday.

Well, he and I share the same birthday. I guess I am gonna have to remember him in my own way, by listening to his music most of the day.

I'm hoping to have the slideshow done by then...
I heard there might be a tribute at the 02 as well.

I will buy cake for my mum and MJ for Bday party at night after I get tattoo done on daytime :) I have plan to tell my mum how I appreciate her support during this hard time ..and thanks to my family for caring me and yes..say happy birthday to MJ and turn on his song for sure.

thats when im gettin my other tattoo lol. but i hope something HUGE is planned

Good luck everyone getting tattoos! I got one for my bday and I love it, Im sure you will too!

Every year August 29th was a very special day and I always celebrated Michael on this day. I did something special for Michael every year too. What I did was make him a special youtube video. The reason why I signed up with MJJC in August 2003 because I was thinking about Michaels birthday. This year even though he wont get to see what I wanted to give him, im sure he would have loved it.

I was supposed to be in London for a concert date. I still want to be in London that weekend and if any fans are gathering on 29th August, I'd LOVE to be there.

I'll definitely be thinking, lighting candles, and praying for Michael and his family. Also... my younger brother who is also named Michael has the same exact birthday (I know... crazy). I'll be thinking and praying for the both of them.

hi there,

not sure if this has already been mentioned - i didn't see it - but if it has i'm sorry.

i'm wondering if all of us mjj fans can organize candle-light gatherings for Aug 29 in different cities all over the world?

i'm on the east coast of the USA - i think it would be a really beautiful tribute to our beautiful angel michael

I heard that mjstar were planning a party a few months ago. I wonder if it will still go ahead. I think it should as a celebration of michael artistry and legacy.

Why did he have to die only 50 years old. He could have lived 40 years more. It's like you wish he had hard time, his last years. So he did not die just like that, if you understand what im saying. Not hard years, but it feels better if he had his struggles, cant explain. I just wish someone would have helped him if he had problems. And if he did not have any problems whatsoever, this is very hard to take in.

If MJ would not have died june 25, risk is that he would have died some other time during this year. If he died because he had sleep problems, it would have got harder when concerts started..

OR, he should have taken any other doctor on the planet.

This is going to hurt me. This will be my first time in 25 years of celebrating MIchael's birthday that he is not here in the flesh. I look up news, birthday talks, etc to see his name mentioned. This is going to be hard. Last year, I was in surgery but I was able to see him talk about turning 50 on Good morning America (not knowing that was going to be his last. His death did NOT have to happen). He hired Murray on June 15. I wish I could go back and changed that decision. Ten days later, Michael dies. It is so unfair.

Jermiane confiemd they were planning a concert at the O2 on the 29th and 30th but nothing has been announced yet.

Michael should have had another doctor. I agree Michael could have lived longer and should be here. I am mad even more because Michael was someone who did not smoke, eat all kinds of junk food, etc and to die from something like this. It is stupid and hurtful. And I do not think the show would have hurt him. Remember the show were spreaded out and he would have been on stage 2 hours (or less).

I wish there was a gathering or something close to where I live, but there won't be, unfortunately :( I always celebrate Mike's birthday in some way though by buying cupcakes, or a cake or something, just so sad to think he isn't here for this one :'(

i also wish there would be celebrations everywhere!! unfortunately im not living close to our capital =( thats too bad

My friend Sam is arranging this:http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=103637357047&ref=ts

I hope to see some of you there in Trafalgar Square, its my birthday the next day I won't feel like celebrating too much :( but I will definitely celebrate Michael's life on the 29th :) I hope the truth comes out about his death and who was behind it, its making me feel so sick thinking of what he might have gone through when he was such a good, kind, giving misunderstood man.

theres an event in vegas. according to reports the 02 concert wont happen. but who knows. otherwsie hopefully something else will be arranged a proper vigil this time. i know those other ppl are arranging a "party" for the 02 again on the 29th like the 13th

I plan to plant a tree that will live for hundreds of years like an oak so Michael will live on in a physical way. I think I will plant some peony flowers in front of it in the shape "MJ" because they live for like 150 years and are the state flower of Indiana. Next to it I think I am going to write a little about what an amazing man Michael is in like a time capsule so hopefully people even hundreds of years from now will know how amazing he is. I hope if other fans like this idea we can get many people to do it. It is good when we unite and try to think of ways to keep his legacy alive. It is our job to do so.

I'll probably spend most of the day crying and listening to his music or watching videos. There's nothing special happening in AZ and I can't afford to go anywhere to be with other fans right nows.

I'll also be donating the money I raised selling these to Make-A-Wish Foundation in his name/memory. :)

Yea, I'm in North Carolina, and nothing planed hear..

I plan to get a tatoo, and then come home turn the lights off in my room. Light some white candels and listen to Michael.

Cant wait to see it. It's gonna be great! :)

I so feel you on this.
I've loved MJ for many years and always listened to his music.
But until I got a PC & internet, I only got tidbits of news & info
from the TV or radio about Michael. SO when August 29th rolled around,
if I wasnt already playing his music, I'd be thinking a big shout out to him for his birthday.

Yes, this year is gonna be especially hard.

There was suppose to be a meetup here in melb, but looks like it anit happening :(

There are several things that a few members and myself have tried to 'organize' I suppose, so that fans all over the world can participate in Michael's brithday.

One idea was to go and buy a helium balloon, write a message on the balloon or attatch a note and then release the balloon to Michael in heaven. Some people raised objections to this due to environmental hazards (totally true) and so it was also brought up to plant a tree or donate an hour of community service on this day in honor of Michael. :D

And then that night, at 10:30PM Eastern time, a lot of people are going to lay outside under the stars and listen to Michael's song Cry. The point is to all do it together at the same time and feel that connection through Michael. It will be amazing. Even if it is cloudy where you live, you should still participate if you can! :)

There is a thread about the star gazing under Vigils and Fan Gatherings that gives you a link to figure out what time 10:30PM Eastern Time is where you live! :)
