MJ Estate versus Melissa Johnson and HTWF /Update: Settlement Enforced - HTWF lost the Appeal

It is only an immature thought...

Pease has been not only Johnsons a lawyer, but he is also the lawyer of Mann. He is it still.

This means: If Mann sued Melissa Johnson because of injury of the contract, Pease cannot represent Mann---at the same time Johnson.

If Pease is not a lawyer now any more Johnson's, a sign could be for the fact that there are heavy differences in the HTWF league.
It could be that, there is a front between Mann / Mr. and Mrs. Jackson on the one hand and Melissa Johnson on the other hand....
Who knows...
And this is already per sé very well for the Estate.

On the other hand, has got Pease by the mandate for Johnson the very best insights in the matter HTWF.
This would be for Mann of big use....

According to my opinion the "contract" is at least concerning the children completely without value.
The sentence
"When adressed herein,the KJ reference complates that Katherine Jackson shall forever bind and enjoin all parties included, on the terms provided herein."
also changes in it nothing.

Though one says "America is the country of the boundless possibilities". But whether the "boundless possibilities" so far go that for children under age an employment contract binding "for ever" can be concluded I doubt very much.

Until now nobody has still dealt with this so-called contract because the wheels stand still for this utilisation machine at the moment.
However, I am sure almost that the family judge, nevertheless, exactly observes and waits.
Maybe he also hopes, that everything comes to nothing if the HTWF thing is cleared.

HA Ha!!! Thank you so much for this. I needed that laugh. It never amazes me about the quality of the lawyers who have suits against the Estate/Michael. Think of Murray and his lawyers, Oxman, etc.

You know in US, you have everything, the worst and the best.

I'm sure a good lawyer, could put this contract with names of 3 young kids, underage, in court, and use this wonderful contract to make problems for Katherine, and she could have problems after to be the guardian of 3 underage very very rich kids.

And I must say, it will be funny to see that.

I had never thought of it that way! But I guess if somebody wanted to make trouble then this might be a good place to start. I guess Katherine didn't think of that. Yikes...

Im just imaging the scenario of they actually had the rights to MJs image, likeness etc. HTWF would surround themselves with the most shady and incompetent ppl ever.

Judge decided that Oxman will be paid $1,775 for searching the documents and $191 for copying costs which equals to the total of $1,966.
Judge declined Oxman's request to be paid for the time & cost of the preparing the motions to ask for the money.

Thank you Ivy and everyone for your updates on this. I don't even know what to say to what I'm reading. I have no legal background, so I'm not able to comment on that aspect, but I will say that I sincerely hope that truth and justice will prevail for Michael and his children, thus that includes the Estate. I keep all in my prayers every day. Keep the Faith :angel:

Glad the judge did not agree to give him the full amount.

Oxman must be in a financial crunch...to go to court over $3000..or he's just greedy.

I'm not taking parts here, just wonder what money Melissa Johnson pays for all her domain names with (about 1755 domain names which should cost her around 20.000$ per year)

what to expect? there will be oral arguments and judge might ask questions. As this involves a confidential settlement I expect it to be in chambers or in closed court. Then the judge will make a decision. We'll see it when the decision is filed with the court - hopefully soon and hopefully not sealed.

I can't tell you what the outcome will be as the documents are sealed and I wasn't able to read either side's argument. So I have no idea who has the stronger case here.

So we get no info today? The decision of the judge will not be today after the hearing, right?

i think it might be a few days annita cant see a judge making a ruling straight away.

why would the arguments be sealed ivy? every things normally out in the open for the public to read. what would be in these arguments that we dont already know? i presume it was sealed cause its details of the settlement which are private?

exactly. as they are arguing about the confidential settlement agreement and referring to it in their motions they asked the judge to seal the documents. Judge put a limited seal on the case - meaning just sealing the documents that refer to the settlement and the latest motions about it. The rest is still public.

annita it might take some time for the judge to come to a decision. even if the judge comes to a decision instantly it would require the court clerk to type and put it in the system. so it might be soon or it might take time. there are some people that attend court hearings but as the settlement is confidential they might or not learn anything about the outcome as well.
