I love Janet! I have been a fan since the 90's...In fact I love the whole Jackson family!

Musically speaking Janet is my second fav Jackson after Michael...

Turtledove, I'm not a fan of remixes... Blood on the dancefloor barely scrapes in for me, and that's only coz it's Michael :lol: I haven't heard her rhythm nation album yet, but are the remixes worth it? I know RN was Michael's favourite album of hers.

This newbie has another question :lol: Actually, I'm trying to find this music video that I watched over a year ago. It started out with everyone sitting around in a building then someone gets a stereo and they start dancing. I forgot the name of the song, but I'm pretty sure there was some lesbian action going on in it too.

Anyone know what song I'm talking about? :unsure:

Fellow Janet fan here! Of course RN1814 but I also really loved Janet. It came out when I was 14 and I have such fond memories!

When I first saw that incident I must admit that I thought it was just a publicity stunt. Since then I have accepted Janet's explanation that it was an accident. But regardless of what the truth may be, I'm amazed that people have made such a big deal out of it. It's hard to believe that something that any sane person would regard as a minor incident could have had such a negative impact on her career.

That could very well be true. I think there's a lot of goodwill, a lot of sympathy for her right now. People will root for her. So if the next album is a good one it will do very well I think.
 
Love love love love love love love Janet. RN1814, janet., TVR.....omg. AFY was also another great album but you could tell what Rene had done for her other works. And yes, Control also rocks but it seems so different to her other work. Anywho....AFY was my last huge swing in the Janet world.....October 6, 2001 MGM Grand Garden Arena. Toy was rockin her straw hat and Ms. Jackson was wearing a nice shade of blue.

I've been listening to her newer albums and I have to say I'm not too crazy about them. There's just way too much sex in them.

I'm not a prude, but this is too much. I took off my headphones in frustration yesterday because all I could hear was her moaning and orgasming on the song.. I think it was the Damita Jo album.

I don't know, maybe it'll grow on me... maybe I just need to be in the mood :lol:
 
Aww :D You're a big girl, you'll get used to it, haha! But yes, that album IS ineed a grower... I mean it wasn't 4 me but 4 others it'll have to grow. Songs like Strawberry Bounce, Warmth... Moist :shifty:, those @ first were like "hell naw", but if you can just ease away from the raunchy lyrics, you'll appreciate the mellowness.
 
Yeah I'll give them another chance, sometimes reading the lyrics while I listen to the songs helps me become familiar with them.

It's just hard to concentrate on anything when there's someone literally orgasming in my ear! At first I wasn't paying much attention, then when I realized what I was listening to..

"Yeah.. ahhh... aaahhhh... ooooohh... ahhhh.."

WTF?! :lol: :mello:

That throws a person off! It sounded like I had a porno open in the background :lol:

I've been a Janet fan since 1993 (Janet album) which I love but IMO Velvet Rope is her best so far.
When I became her fan I was a teenager and I saw her as some sort of a big sister of mine. LOL
I saw her once in concert (Velvet Rope tour) when she came to Finland, Turku. She was going to come to Europe again but then the 9/11 happened and she cancelled the European leg of the tour (all for you tour was it?).
And I'm so sad that last few years haven't been very good to her. I would blame the producers. And the industry. IMO "the niplegate" would have been nothing had it happened in Europe. People would not have even noticed it.
All For You and Damita Jo were her last good ones. I wasn't really feeling 20 Y.O. nor Discipline. I got them but I listened to them like once over and that's it.

I love it how Michael and Janet are so much alike.
