The album could 100% be a surprise, and I honestly wouldn't mind that one bit. But if the rumours about the short films, documentary etc. Are true then they would certainly have to be advertised a couple of months prior.

Yeah I remember buying the CD the day it came out, with a card stating the release date of the eventual Blu-Ray I was like HELL YEAH until I realized they changed their mind on including Stranger In Moscow on the DVD.. I think it was Travis Payne who said that was the original plan. Planet Earth is beautiful for sure. It's certainly been long enough now, people need things to look forward to and get excited about.

^^ Got To Be There debuted in October of 1971, the musical is set to premiere in September.. Perhaps the release will coincide with this new celebration? We'll see. If I remember correctly BAD 25 was released in September 2012, the month after the anniversary.

BAD25 was released on September 18th - the same day Motown(Universal) released "Come & Get It: Rare Pearls". What a coincidence it was.:D

I know a few times the same thing happened whilst Michael was still here, can't remember the source but things definitely lined up. For an example, the most recent one that memory serves me along with BAD 25 would be 'KING OF POP' and the 3CD Motown Collection both being released for Michael's birthday in 2008.
 
I know this isn’t new MJ content per say but I would love to have the full and complete version of Ladysmith Black Mambazo performing The Moon Is Walking on the Smooth Criminal set/location without the rolling credits. I’ve always loved that song. Maybe if we get an anniversary release of moonwalker some day.

nothing happen at the superbowl. but there was a cool edward scissorhands commercial. i wish michael got that role.

Where tf is thriller 4k...its been 4years...smh by the time it comes out...it'll be able to convert in holographic form

hahaha this was actually very popular back in the day. i guess you can say these are the first 3D/holographics next to the laserdiscs.

And after the Grammys there are some other event, and after that another...

I don't think the next MJ release will be revealed at one of those event. I think the Estate will just out of the blue release the next single and then hopefully that will hype things up by itself. - That needs a very good song, great production and everything, but MJ still has huge interest, so it could be a great way to do it. Make it trend and push it to all radio stations etc.

I didn't really see any fans say that the halftime show was bad. I personally thought it was spectacular. Obviously it was not on Michael's level, but that's because Michael was so unique. The reaction to The Weeknd's halftime show was mostly positive though.

I agree that the next album/single will probably be surprise drop.

The Weeknd said himself that Diana & Michael inspired his performance, you honestly could truly feel that whilst watching it. From the classic Off The Wall moves to the iconic Thriller pose.. The loafers etc. It was beautiful. Even the lit up buildings in the beggining reminded me of Smooth Criminal from TII. The Weeknd is great, I'm certainly in a position that I'd definitely pay to see him live. Now back to the topic, Where's greatestartists at? It's been two weeks, maybe theirs nothing else we need to know? One can't be sure, although he did say a marketing campaign was in the works so it's possible that it may not be a surprise.. Who knows?

I hope we get a new release(song or a concert release) soon but I don't think it will be announced at Grammys. I have a feeling that they might not want to include Michael in the show because of LN. Also they might fear social media backlash from the people who believe the documentary.

The Grammy Awards would be an incredible platform to celebrate 50 years of Michael's unmatched career, and to also hopefully announce/promote something new.

Good to hear. I hope they will promote the next project in a big way. I just have a feeling that we might not hear about any new projects in a while.

if michael not mention at the grammys actually i wouldn't be mad because we all know Michael history at the grammys. after thriller the grammys did michael wrong. bts suppose to be there so let's be honest if michael not mention then we know it's agenda.

It'd be crazy if their isn't anything in the end. Michael deserves the absolute best treatment when it comes to his legacy. I really hope their's some truth in what greatestartists is saying.. That'd be perfect.

I have no doubt that the record label's willing to arrange something. I guess the output depends on the estates input.

Unfortunately record companies have no control over what is released, which can also be a good thing. I'm just glad that Branca has had at the very least a thought towards doing something this year.. They must know how tired fans are of not receiving anything for a few years. The film to me is looking like the thing that should be anticipated over anything else right now as we have that info coming from two sources (greatestartists and Branca himself).

the estate should do what mj planned and just release singles all year and at the end of the year drop an album of all the releases and add like 2 new songs.
thats genius in so many levels but they would have to put A LOT of resources into making each single a WOW moment so - new producers - big collabs - music videos/

id be soooooo down for all of that but i think its never going to happen
