Apparently in the 1950s, the popular nightclub, Mocambo would not book Ella Fitzgerald because she was black. Fortunately for Ella, she had a powerful and unlikely benefactor Marilyn Monroe. “I owe Marilyn Monroe a real debt…it was because of her that I played the Mocambo, a very popular nightclub in the ’50s. She personally called the owner of the Mocambo, and told him she wanted me booked immediately, and if he would do it, she promised she would take a front table every night. She told him - and it was true, due to Marilyn’s superstar status - that the press would go wild. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. The press went overboard. After that, I never had to play a small jazz club again. She was an unusual woman - and ahead of her time and she didn’t know it.” - Ella Fitzgerald
^^You drew that? Nice. She kinda looks like Gaga, a bit.
I wish I could do artistic stuff like that. All I can do is ride various kinds of bikes, bang drums and play only 3 chords on an acoustic guitar, lol... and I'm pretty sure non of those count as being 'artistic'.
I wish I could draw, or paint...![]()
Yes, and no it is not gaga. o_o
It's Nabokov's Lolita, with Kubrick influences [mainly, the red heart-shaped glasses which have become a staple of "Lolita" since the Kubrick film]. I'm not surprised it reminded you of her, since she steals, I mean, "is inspired by" his style.
As for being able to do whatever, I'm self-taught, so just pick up a tool and waste time. That's how I do it.
Oh I drew my signature, too. xD
OMG, I love this dog!![]()
