I don't want to be maudlin, but I just got back from the wake....and this just happened this week. I hugged my colleague -she was happy to see me. I got a little choked up....and told her the offer to help out with either the kids or the house was still open. She thanked me.
On my way out, I picked this up. I am so glad I waited till I got home to read it - it's a poem from the 14 year old daughter to her mother...
What a powerful poem! That 14 year old daughter is very special. May God bless her and continue to comfort her, and her whole family.

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
