“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
- Marianne Williamson (often credited to Nelson Mandela, but she was the creator of the quote)
Keep Helping to Heal The World~~~
Thanks Sue....I plan on it!! Michael inspired me to do this..It all started by me singing with a hand-selected choir for the first Aids walk in Atlanta, at Piedmont Park. It was called "From All Walks Of Life".. It was a big thing...we had several professionals there....We sang "Keep The Faith" and "Heal the World"...it was the most awesome, powerful, moving experience I have ever had so far musically. And it sparked this fire inside of me....after that experience, I DO want to save the world. NO QUESTION about it....maybe I can, but then again maybe I can't. I know it's crazy, a woman my age going into nursing....but I have Michael to thank....Thank you Michael. YOU are the reason why I went into this...along with always wanting to do this for a long time...
Your very welcome...My philosophy, if there is just one person that we are helping, then we are making a difference, helping to Heal The World~~~
Don't ever have doubt about going back to school, no matter what age..! Sometimes when we are younger we take certain paths and put our desires, goals, dreams on hold...
When I got divorced in 1993, I had the x, a social worker from the Department of Health & Human Services tell me how likely it would be that I would ever complete an Associates, BA, & Law degree at my age..?
3.5 GPA in Legal Studies, 2006, 2007, 2008 President of the UA Legal Studies Association, 2007 Outstanding Student Award ect.
NEVER EVER allow anyone to tell you that your desires, goals, dreams are crazy, foolish, or unlikly...With dedication, persistance, and your desire to grow...Each and Everyone of can has the opportunities to accomplish ANYTHING!
Knowledge is Growth...Education is the Key! Keep Healing The World~~~
bump, this is still a nice thread to read.![]()
^I've been in a similar situation and yes, it is the personal things that are hardest to lose such as photos on the computers that were taken, and old conversations and creative writing. Like pieces of me. The stuff is just stuff. Most of it I can't even remember.
