Roger Friedman posted the following in his column, Showbiz 411, today:

Michael Jackson: Dr. Murray Stripped of License, Held for Trial, Followed in Father’s Footsteps

At last.

Dr. Conrad Murray has been held for trial in the manslaughter of Michael Jackson. He’s also been stripped of his medical license.

Frankly – and this is an emotional response – Murray should be tried for MURDER.

According to testimony, Murray had been administering Propofol to Michael for six nights a week for two months leading up to his death. Murray told this to a police detective two days after Jackson’s death.
Of all the things that have come out in the preliminary trial, this is by far the worst. Luckily, Judge Michael Pastor realized this, and took away Murray’s right to practice medicine. He deemed Murray a danger to the public. No kidding.

I’ve been thinking about the Propofol a lot recently. Twice — once in November, again in December–yours truly was given Propofol before kidney stone surgery. It was such a big deal that there were many discussions with anesthesiologists, nurses, etc. Each time it was done in a hospital operating room. This was a serious business. Anyone who’s ever been “knocked out” for surgery knows this is not to be taken lightly.

But Dr. Murray did take it lightly. He obviously saw it as an easy way to appease Michael, who was used to getting his way with other doctors. The only difference was, none of them had gone this far.

I still think it’s of no small coincidence that Dr. Murray’s father had issues prescribing medicine. As I reported in July 2009:
Dr. Murray’s biological father, whom he met at age 25, was the late Dr. Rawle Andrews of Houston, Tex. Dr. Andrews died in 2001, but was a respected Houston physician.

However: Dr. Rawle Andrews’ medical license came under review and was severely limited, according to the Texas Medical Board, from 1994 to 1999.

Dr. Andrews was found to have prescribed “controlled substances and substances with addictive potential to [two patients, names reduced to initials] for extended periods of time without adequate indication.”

wow this comming from Roger Friedman?? Even someone like him who did nothing but contribute to tarnishing Michael's image says murray should be on trial for murder you know something needs to be done.

I'm so tired sitting at college studying all day, but I have to admit this - although its coming from Friedman- surprisingly made a lot of sense, enough sense for me to wake up. For once I agree with that moron.

People like Friedman should stop pretending like they care justice isn't served, esp in Jackson's case, when all the while, they'd been writing most unflattering ish and falsities about him, completely tarnishing him. Their hypocrisy or late/lame awakening doesn't do Jackson a favor, really, he's gone.

Friedman of course is an idiot, a moron, who did his part in the past decade to turn Michael's life miserable, he contributed to Michael's sleepless nights and pain, that's for damn sure, and no 'late awaking' will take this fact away, but I rather want him have a late/lame awaking than still writing shyte on Michael, pissing further on his grave, or to be technical; his tomb like many other media ppl and non media ppl do.
Friedbrain, his ''sources'', and everyone else who contributed making Michael Jackson's life a misery, in his final 5-8 years should rot eternally in hell.

Exactly... they are all acting like they're innocent but we all know they contributed to MJ's pain and sleepless nights. Roger should even be ashamed of himself pretending like he cares. May he and all the rest that contributed to the pain MJ had rot in hell.

Are u Freakin kidding me? Or what? I guess Diane saying Murray should go to jail too was showing her "emotional response" also!? But, when MJ was alive they helped destroy his reputation, where were you guys "emotional responses" when the man told people like you to stop it?

Of course Murray should go to jail and I do think it's more then just involuntary manslaughter! But, IMO people who help destroy MJ's rep are just as responsible, period!

People like Friedman rock the boat from both sides. In other words go with both flows, stroke everybody's ears.
No surprise here. In the name of detachment, journalists can write anything. But truth exists, waiting to be uncovered, and it's unique in form and shape, and definitely not relative. Events did happen, and underlying causes do exist.
It's the job of these so-called journalists to dig, find, and unearth, if they want to be consistent with the normative definition of their job.
