We can be pretty sure that if the new album sounds great, Michael will be able to sell more than 10 milllion copies. If some great videos follow and Wembley's concerts as well, the sales should be huge. Bur I think if he wants once again to come close to 20 or 25 million copies he should do something more. That's why I think he should try to convince people that he is not a freak, but a kind, warm guy; a good father and just a normal human being.

In my opinion, the reason why his sales haven't reached 20 mln copies barrier in recent years has been his image. The molestation case of course too, but if you ask an ordinary person who Michael Jackson is, they will answer "A great singer many years ago. Probably the greatest. But now - he is somewhere in the castle, he is a freak. They would add that he has kids, but don't know anything about him plus the will say he hasn't had a hit in a long time.

When people see Michael in a positive light again, he will sell twice more than he could now.

Of course, we here on the forum don't need any confirmation how wondeful guy he is, but the others do.
People don't buy his records as they used to, beacuse they stopped understanding him a long time ago (and Michael didn't help them understand again)
When I talk to people, I have an impression that they are not 'the haters' but simply they consider him a really strange person, which of course doesn't help the sales.
The bizarre image was good in the 80s but it failed him later.

And when everybody complains how the media potrait him, why shouldn't Michael tell his story himself.
I have an idea of a TV programme (you tube thing or even better smth prepared for a television (sold for good money:)), something like, let's say, 20: 30 minute- 1 hour episodes showing his real life.
I want to see how he spends time with kids, how he does homework with his oldest one.
Just regular life.

I am not saying that Michael owes that story to anybody, that he should prove anything, bu t he could do it (smth like 'more sophisticated' Newly-Weds':)).

There would be millons of people watching it and I am convinced it would change the perception of him.

Michael has never tried to tell his story himself, he has avoided interviews etc - but now it's the time to tell the truth. Let everybody now who he really is.

It's a great suggestion that you give in Michael being able to tell his life- story through a weekly televised program. However, the problem is, no one will make any money off of 'positive news' on MJ. No programs or stations will telecast anything that places him in a normal and real light. It's frustrating. All they want is to money off of the man's misfortune.

Bless you for trying though. ^_^

impossible. he thought living with michael jackson was gonna do this. aint not going in for seconds. who gets their hand bitten by a crocodile TWICE?

Exactly  It's too risky. Anything he does on TV or in front of an audience is analyzed over and over again and then twisted into something it's not. The whole purpose of the Martin Bashir documentary was to show the world the REAL Michael Jackson and all it did was generate negative publicity.

ok, but who is saying about working with somebody else.
Doesn't Michale have his own people? Such a program should have Michael's rules, his script and his crew on the set.
He said so many times 'people misunderstand me so much'
So, let him speak. Let him say everyhing he wants
Plus, if he wants be mega popular again, he has to clear things up with the audience.
People don't believe him - I would even say - disrespect him.
I think that our love from the forum here will be not enough to put his career on the right track again.
He must do it himslef with his own words.

Isn't it enpugh for you that his 25 year old album is no 1 all over the world and has been on the top 10 for 5 weeks. Who else is doing that right now. Mr Jackson was voted the 2nd most sought after celeb. This is after the media bashing. He was also the 3rd most iconic in America, after Elvis and Frank. He is in good shape. Couldn't be better. Have you noticed his new title.'THE KING'.

It means a lot - but doesn't mean that the new material will be selling
Remember - that's what is selling now is 25 years old (still kicking ass, still fresher than anything we have heard in the last 10 years- I ADMIT)
But what I am afraid of is the last 12 years (since BOTDF) - bad clips, bad style choices,
no real hits (I could listen to who is it million of times in a row; but after 5 listenings of Morphine or Invincible I have enough)

I know that maybe in the last years Michale hasn't felt like recording - he had some contract obligations and he fullfiled them - I sometimes even think that the quality of Invincible was 'poorer' on purpose, because Michael knew that even if ha had released a record full of Billie Jeans 'nobody' would have bought it - all people wanted to kick his ass so badly that the real music didn't matter - I know it is a bizarre theory but that's how I feel)

I GIVE SO MUCH CREDIT - if I could I would pre-pay for the new album right now.

But I also claim that so much must be done - new moves, absolutely revolutionary clips, catching image - nothing like that has happened in the last decade - that's why I am sceptical.
And the image, perception of him....something must be done and it must come from Michael
To make such convesations like I had today never happen:

My friend - I am going to France to see The Police.
Me - Wow, that's a pity they don't play new material, though
Anyway, I would like to see Michael in Wembley. You know he is making a huge
comeback.....
My friend - Yea, he needs money, he is so broke, bla, bla bla

I am sick of these voices. but if Michael wants to go mega global , for 25 - 30 million copies, he must change people like my friend
Not me, not you - we already have the new album on the shelves:)

your all saying hes making a huge comeback, but has he said that??? hes never said i will be releasing an album, all hes done is droped hints to keep us all fans! lol

I'm sorry to disappoint you but these days, what with the state of the music industry and online piracy, NOBODY is selling 25-30 million or anywhere near those numbers anymore. So forget it. -_-
