We can be pretty sure that if the new album sounds great, Michael will be able to sell more than 10 milllion copies. If some great videos follow and Wembley's concerts as well, the sales should be huge. Bur I think if he wants once again to come close to 20 or 25 million copies he should do something more. That's why I think he should try to convince people that he is not a freak, but a kind, warm guy; a good father and just a normal human being.
In my opinion, the reason why his sales haven't reached 20 mln copies barrier in recent years has been his image. The molestation case of course too, but if you ask an ordinary person who Michael Jackson is, they will answer "A great singer many years ago. Probably the greatest. But now - he is somewhere in the castle, he is a freak. They would add that he has kids, but don't know anything about him plus the will say he hasn't had a hit in a long time.
When people see Michael in a positive light again, he will sell twice more than he could now.
Of course, we here on the forum don't need any confirmation how wondeful guy he is, but the others do.
People don't buy his records as they used to, beacuse they stopped understanding him a long time ago (and Michael didn't help them understand again)
When I talk to people, I have an impression that they are not 'the haters' but simply they consider him a really strange person, which of course doesn't help the sales.
The bizarre image was good in the 80s but it failed him later.
And when everybody complains how the media potrait him, why shouldn't Michael tell his story himself.
I have an idea of a TV programme (you tube thing or even better smth prepared for a television (sold for good money
), something like, let's say, 20: 30 minute- 1 hour episodes showing his real life.
I want to see how he spends time with kids, how he does homework with his oldest one.
Just regular life.
I am not saying that Michael owes that story to anybody, that he should prove anything, bu t he could do it (smth like 'more sophisticated' Newly-Weds'
).
There would be millons of people watching it and I am convinced it would change the perception of him.
Michael has never tried to tell his story himself, he has avoided interviews etc - but now it's the time to tell the truth. Let everybody now who he really is.
