Any clues on why he decided to wear a black leather jacket instead of the iconic red Beat It jacket? He still looked cool, but it didn't feel right. Thoughts on that?

Also, why didn't he wear the Black Pants in one of the performances for Rock My World? I heard there were some incident with the black pants (they disappeared or something), so he improvised and grabbed some white pants (he only did it for one concert, on the other, he wore the black ones). Anyone else no anything more about this?

I read Michael Bush mentioning the black jacket instead of the red one on MJBrazil today. He said that Michael wanted a black one instead of the red one to see if the audience would notice, and when Bush went to hand him the jacket during a costume change, MJ pranked him by saying "Bush the jacket is supposed to be red."

Well no one seemed to notice/care when Michael wore a white Thriller jacket instead of a red Thriller jacket during the Dangerous and HIStory tours.

Pretty sure they did notice, I mean it stood out to me right away when I watched the DVD. You'd have to be a very very very casual fan or understandably colourblind to not notice.

I'm sure if the internet was as big back then as it was now, you'd see it mentioned somewhere on MJ fansites/forums. I feel it's something you'd definitely notice but not really big enough to make a huge song and dance about, ya know?

I meant no one in the audience seemed to notice/care. But it would have been funny if someone stood up and yelled' That's not the usual colour for that jacket! This is an outrage!'' and then a riot starts.

I don't think many other acts perform in the same outfits from their past, although Rod Stewart kept the same hairdo for 30 years. ;D

We don't really know that in all honesty and you wouldn't really be able to tell anyway. I mean, how would you? It's not much of a dealbreaker that would cause a notable change in people's behaviour.

HAHA that would be pretty funny "Our top story tonight! Tens of thousands of Michael Jackson fans broke out in riots today, protesting the singer's drastic change in jacket colour. At least 46 cars were flipped over as arriving Police actually joined in the protest, outraged at how Jackson could commit such a blasphemous act of treachery. Jackson wouldn't reply personally to our comments, but his manager blamed it on the costume designer, saying 'the damn thing' was meant to be red."

Well, I'm pretty sure that people have rioted under less circumstances
