Never thought i'd hear it...i never said it's a fanmade mix.. i said its real. And Damien already confirmed on twitter if i'm not wrong?

Never thought i'd hear it...
I'm confused now. But for me, it's kinda doubtful, stopping to read the details Damien Shields gave about the song (example: the "CLAP CLAP" after the chorus "The world is one big melting pot of life", rock elements), for me, this snippet doesn't fit his description about Rocker because of those elements being missing. Now that Damien is no longer busy sponsoring the podcast, it would be a good idea to ask him whether the snippet of "Rocker" is actually legitimate or fake. According to @kai, it is a fan-made mix, but it should contain real parts.
I expected Rocker to sound more like that fake Victory demo personally.I'm confused now. Me too. I imagined that Rocker sounded like this fake Victory demo, and: Shout (tempo), Tabloid Junkie + Morphine and TDCAU (vocal style)I expected Rocker to sound more like that fake Victory demo personally.
Yeah, just something more, rock n roll. Like Queen and Beat It combined.Me too. I imagined that Rocker sounded like this fake Victory demo, and: Shout (tempo), Tabloid Junkie + Morphine and TDCAU (vocal style)
He already answered it - it's still uncertain whether it's real or not because he said that although the beat was correct, the vocal melody was off and there some things missing such as the claps and some instruments. Now that Damien is no longer busy sponsoring the podcast, it would be a good idea to ask him whether the snippet of "Rocker" is actually legitimate or fake. Imo the song is probably an A.I fake that's using the real song as basis, the snippet that leaked came from a channel that uploaded other A.I fakes like that Rich Girl song and some others. Very possible this is another fake A.I song as well. https://www.youtube.com/@RecordBox1988 https://www.youtube.com/@RecordBoxArchive/videosThe lyrics and beat of the song is right, but the way the vocal melody is sang sounds very off according to Damien. There are 2 claps missing after each chorus line; "And the world is one big melting pot of life *clap, clap*".
There are also some missing instrumentation and embellishments.
So overall, the snippet seems to be either half-legit or it could be some other version/mix of what he heard.
Can't believe how many low quality snippets of totally unheard songs we have gotten the last years. It's exhausting.
Yeah, that makes sense. We know there's a real snippet from Kai too. He doesn't get to hear to unreleased stuff very early from what it seems, but only when they start circulating more (maybe via Discord servers, etc).He already answered it - it's still uncertain whether it's real or not because he said that although the beat was correct, the vocal melody was off and there some things missing such as the claps and some instruments.

I hope Brad talks about the last recording sessions he had with Michael, not just because of the music itself but because he mentioned at a seminar how the last session they did was incredible and that it brings so much depth to MJ so I'm really curious to hear about what went on there. He's been saying for a while now how the 2004-2008 sessions are amongst his favorites.Posting as FYI.
Not necessarily expecting a deep dive into the unreleased tracks, tbh. Red does good interviews (imo) but he tends to focus more on Michael as a person or what it was like to work with Michael so I don't know how relevant the interview will be to this thread.
EDIT - this is the interview where Red invited people to send in questions so it is possible that some of them might focus on unreleased songs.
@redjacksondance
"Interview with MJ’s longtime songwriter, producer, musician BRAD BUXER - SATURDAY 23RD NOVEMBER ... "

but it would be good enough for us!I saw Shana Mangatal replying on an interview with LL Cool J somewhere on instagram stating she has a demo of 'Truth On Youth' and that LL Cool J is right when he says it wasn't good enough to release
but it would be good enough for us!
It would at least be something..but it would be good enough for us!
Thank you for the write-up!Not a whole lot of discussion was done on unreleased music but these are all the tidbits I got:
-In The Back, The Way You Love Me, I Am A Loser, Days In Gloucestershire, Beautiful Girl were worked on in 2004
-He talked a bit about the recording of Days In Gloucestershire but seems like he's mixing up the stories, he said it was written about his relationships even though the song was about a trip MJ did during a J5 tour
-Buxer says he cried during the recording of Days In Gloucestershire
-Days in Gloucestershire, The Loser, Adore You, and Rich Girl are the songs he wants to see get released the most
-Brad Buxer didn't uphold any unreleased song from the Estate and they own everything
-Light The Way was recorded with a 45-vocalist choir and was done over the phone. It's about the hurricane Katrina and started being worked on during fall of 2005 and was worked on for several months
-Wasn't involved with Michael's classical music album
-They did a bunch of music for the Green Hornet movie, so "Green Hornet Groove" isn't the only soundtrack made
-Brad Buxer was hired by an airline in 2007 and wasn't able to work with Michael for months of which Michael begged him to quit the airlines so he can dedicate himself fulltme to work on music
-Michael wasn't paying his collaborators during that time
-Beginning of 2008 was the last time they worked together
-No music was done at all during the trial
-Last session they did together was sort of like a party, Lavelle Smith was on the phone and Michael and Brad were working in a room and according to Brad it was the finest time he had with Michael
-He says he'll talk about that session more in the future but there wasn't anything dark about it, it was just him and Michael having a blast
-Seminar with Michael Prince in Paris in February
He also read off his list of songs made with mj but it’s still missing a bunch like innocent man, boy no, just remember, etcThank you for the write-up!
Somebody needs to ask Brad for more information about “Rich Girl.” He’s been vocal about his love for tracks like “Gloucestershire,” but placing that one as his most desired to see released is surprising.
I do think he may be getting his stories mixed up regarding “Light the Way,” as the story he told matches perfectly with what occurred with “I Have This Dream.”
Days in Gloucestershire has a wonderful melody; I don’t blame him.Thank you for the write-up!

Are those the versions on The Ultimate Collection? They are dated as 2004 on the booklet.-In The Back, The Way You Love Me, I Am A Loser, Days In Gloucestershire, Beautiful Girl were worked on in 2004
I judge you from afar.Always been in the minority but 'Gloucestershire' is terrible. MJs pronunciation is completely wrong & it's just not a memorable cut at all.
You deserve to be in that minority. And that minority deserves to be repressed.Always been in the minority but 'Gloucestershire' is terrible. MJs pronunciation is completely wrong & it's just not a memorable cut at all.
I completely agree. It's The Lost Children-esq with awful sounding keyboard patches. Honestly, I've not heard anything original from MJ's later years that interest me.Always been in the minority but 'Gloucestershire' is terrible. I like the melody of the song. The lyrics could be better.Always been in the minority but 'Gloucestershire' is terrible. MJs pronunciation is completely wrong & it's just not a memorable cut at all.
