The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

MJ spent about a year writing music with Buz Kohan between 1983-84 for the Peter Pan project, of which four songs exist: “Make a Wish", “Neverland Landing,” “I’m Peter Pan” and “Happy Song”. The first two exist in some state. I believe “Neverland Landing” is complete and “Make a Wish” was at the very least demoed, as Spielberg would regularly put his child to sleep with a cassette of it.
Make a wish is confirmed to have full vocals and is releasable by Joe Vogel. He also said happy song and Peter Pan “were recorded” but it’s unknown if it’s scratch vocals, full vocals, chorus only etc. I’d love to hear them one day!

Buz has the songs. As I always say, Michael's music is with the co-writers

Jokes asked, I feel like it’s gotta be, right? “Neverland Landing” started in the early 1980s and was somehow on Buxer’s hard drive at the time of MJ’s death. When did MJ revisit it? Why? The initial Peter Pan movie came out in 1994, and a reboot in 2003—maybe he reworked it for one of those? From what I’ve heard of “Neverland Landing,” it definitely fits the vibe of ‘90s Disney movies.

The original demo is very good and Is sound like a song form a Disney movie but about the reworked i Heard it was probrably reworked around 2008 but the version that is registered in the copyright office is form 2009

Probably was on his hard drive because of the ultimate collection I’m guessing.

For a moment I was thinking to myself, "Oh man, i have to travel all the way to the US to hear bro Michael's unreleased songs T_T ".

Just joking, i was imagining this song as a good vibe orchestral song.

Probably just general purpose

Motown literally has hundreds of unreleased J5 songs. I wonder if we'll ever hear the J5 version of "In and Out of My Life". This track was first recorded by Michael October 22nd of 1970 with The Jacksons recording their vocals on the 29th. J5 re-recorded the song again in January and February of 71 but the song ended up being given to The Vandellas in March of 71

Thank you for this info! Would love to hear it with Michaels voice.

I wonder, how many unreleased Motown-songs are still in the vault. I guess not many, as the record company started to release them shortly after they left Motown.

Has anyone count the number of songs from the Motown vault, that are already out there? (released between 1976 until today)

The Jacksons recorded almost 500 songs during Motown and a little over 200 have been released

Now that Damien is no longer busy sponsoring the podcast, it would be a good idea to ask him whether the snippet of "Rocker" is actually legitimate or fake. According to @kai, it is a fan-made mix, but it should contain real parts.

i never said it's a fanmade mix.. i said its real. And Damien already confirmed on twitter if i'm not wrong?

Yes it's fake but this is pretty much what I expect the Victory demo to sound like:

Anyone here heard the real demo..? I thought they planned to release it?

I don't think anyone outside of Queens camp has heard Victory.

Brian May tried to get all 3 songs released in 2012 but The Estate blocked it but eventually approved the release of There Must Be More to Life. My assumption is Estate blocked State of Shock and Victory due to these being intended for The Jacksons project

I'm confused now. But for me, it's kinda doubtful, stopping to read the details Damien Shields gave about the song (example: the "CLAP CLAP" after the chorus "The world is one big melting pot of life", rock elements), for me, this snippet doesn't fit his description about Rocker because of those elements being missing.

I expected Rocker to sound more like that fake Victory demo personally.
