Unfortunately I think you’re right. Maybe he didn’t have that written and his estate wants to profit so they green light the release of stuff he has. Bruce Swedien had his own tape vault at his home. Marcos Cabota said “there’s a lot there that fans would love” or something like that. Bruce is the gold mine as he’d have 1978-2001 material

Probably, but maybe he has some stuff that the estate doesn’t. Maybe he gave them copy’s of his material. Given they have obscure dangerous era tracks that we have never heard of, I assume they have everything. For Xscape they had 24 tracks in contention and 8 released. So that leaves 16 fully completed tracks in the vault.
One question I always had was, how many of those songs have we already heard? I believe Damien Shields once said that “If You Don’t Love Me” and “I Was the Loser” were among them, which eliminates two. (I know we haven’t heard the “final” version of IWTL, but the differences are so minuscule between the two versions that I consider them to be the same.)

Wasnt Chicago 1945 and Dream Away two other songs mixed for that album? And maybe Who do you know and What a lovely way to go too or maybe they counted them as mixed for the album, as the mix of Love never felt so good was from Michael but they count it as a mix for Xscape as well.
Not Dream Away, no. According to Steve's accounts, he presented the song, but refused to let them do the remix treatment.

That was Steve’s story about “Chicago 1945” from 2014 up until he played “Dream Away” for the first time. It’s possible this was the case with both, but personally I think he just got his stories mixed up. I wish someone would ask him for clarification.
Imo it's very likely that WALWTG was amongst one of the songs they considered for Xscape given how almost all of the songs that ended up on the album are songs that were previously considered for the Michael album, so there's a non-zero probability that Lovely Way was brought back up at least briefly.
Well, if you consider the fact he started remixing both songs himself in 2014, it's fair to say the Estate asked him for material and he wanted to have something ready.
I don't care for Slave To The Rhythm but with LA Reid calling the shots, there was no way that song was not going to be included.
Isn't Hot Fun in the Summertime basically a DJ Khaled-esque track with a dozen featured artists since MJ only recorded a verse and a chorus or something like that? Yet it was still considered.
“Hot Fun” is with D’Angelo and Mary J. Blige. Apparently there’s more MJ than any of us thought at the outset (D’Angelo and Mary are apparently very brief), but I don’t have much interest in it truthfully. I’d rather hear an MJ original.

Lol I think it depends on what people consider outtakes. If it was fully recorded, mixed and mastered but left off the album, it's an outtake but some consider mumbled demos as the same
