The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Snakepit comes out of nowhere. Odd title and also wasn't on any of Bill's notes either. I bet who ever provided this info (DiLeo?) gave that title as a joke.
maybe it's just a work title that hasn't been updated on track sheets, tape boxes etc - similar how Hot Fever was kept until final sequencing of Bad album.

Its probably a working title for another song. Wanna talk odd titles? Scream-O-Blaster. Its prolly a working title as well

It's authenticity could be proven by how this article is from June 1987 and Bill's notes stop after mid-January.

I would think that, but at that point every song on the album had their final titles. Even Just Good Friends didn't change much. So my belief is that it was a song from outside writers that got started pretty late yet became abandoned when it couldn't stack up to Man In The Mirror and Just Good Friends (same reason I believe Groove of Midnight got discarded as well).

At 31:30, he says, “I threw another shot. ‘Can we use the vocals?’ [MJ said,] ‘Sure.’” So not only DID MJ record the song, but (according to him) some of his background vocals are on the Blackstreet recording. Interesting.
This has been well known for a long time, Michael is very clearly audible on the Blackstreet recording of the song during the background harmonies (and they're very beautiful at that)

Songs that I feel that should've leaked by now are instrumentals. Not sure why collectors have been holding onto them for so long. Songs like Apocalypse Now, Kreeton Overture, MJ Melody, the full version of Time Marches On, Ask Rene 1 & 3, the 1990 instrumental of SPYHO, Bubbles, House Groove, Son of Thriller, etc. I also feel like there's no reason the two Speed Demon remixes from 1988 should be gatekept lol
We have info on MJ melody?

If it was considered for Bad right next to SW '87, its probably a good song.

I highly doubt it'll leak anytime soon. Its among songs like Crack Kills, Tomboy, Joy, What You Do To Me, Make Or Break, Boots Song, Nymphette Lover, that are all the most sought after songs and have been for decades. If the Brad heist didnt happen, I highly doubt Chicago 1945 would've leaked by now
There are seminar recs of Chicago Og (assuming it’s not a revised version) that I know people have had for several years, lowkey kinda surprised that hasn’t came out yet.

"Pyramid Girl" mystery's debunked. It turns out no song titles were revealed to attendees during the preview session.

Yet another conflicting interview from Teddy, but further confirmation that MJ recorded Joy.

This has to be a money thing. Teddy and the Estate probably can't come to an agreement to release the song.

Joy and Groove of Midnight are at the top of list as to what I want to hear the most.

collectors don't even have some of this stuff, not sure what you're on about

I'm actually lost for words at the state of Teddy Riley. Does he need genuine help? How can someone be so inconsistent in what they say lol.
Could say the same about Brad Buxer and what he recalls of supposedly writing Stranger in Moscow… He sure played a big part in the track but its not clear if that extends to co-authorship.

I feel like this gets litigated every few months lol. I think the difference is that Buxer is incredibly consistent with his recollections and claims, whereas Teddy flip-flops with every interview. (Plus, Buxer coming up with the chord progression for “Stranger in Moscow” absolutely extends to co-authorship.)

Sure, maybe Teddy is more inconsistent than Brad is in a broader number of things. Including changing his statements on the Michael material & Cascio songs.

But for Brad it’s his accounts on writing Stranger in Moscow that do differ substantially…More has been detailed on that in other threads. And it was not mentioned once before Michael’s passing (plus, Michael never mentioned Brad being there when SIM was written in Moscow). So who knows.

I believe, before the leak, someone here mentioned the vocals to be lazy and uninspired..? I am willing to believe that but can hardly hear his vocals in that leak.. So maybe there is a better version around? @ChanceToDance
The leak was tampered with but Motif fixed it for the most part, there's gotta be a higher quality file somewhere. Unless you mean whether an updated version exists then I'm not sure, apparently the version that leaked is the "Bible" mix so it's unlikely.

Brad seemed to have made it clear that he never brought it up because it didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. It still doesn’t seem to matter since he hasn’t asked or requested to be credited. I wouldn’t say that him bringing it up now is indicative of anything other than him wanting to correct the record. He’s been nothing but praising MJ in every other respect, and even when he mentions not being credited, it’s shrugged off.

Now, if he was making more claims than this, I would absolutely agree he’s probably just fishing for attention. But I think we’ve become a little too sensitive to anyone who makes allegations of any kind against MJ. Him taking undue credit is well documented.
