Fujon, the sour cabbage is prepared in large amont here in Romania. Usually, in the autumn, grannies or mothers (kitchen still remain a female domain here) buy as much as 10 -15 cabbages. You put the cabbages in a big keg, pour 2 cups with salt (or more), e cups with savory and dill, and cover with boiled water. Close the keg and wait for a month. After a month ...tah-tah! you got your sour cabbage ;)

We use all the winter sour cabbage to make all sorts of salads and meals, that's why that large amount. The process of souring takes long time so that's the reason why we prefer putting many cabbages :D
