The Girl Is Mine 2008 has entered the UK chart at number 78 on downloads alone. I have no idea if that is good or bad for a single in its first week of digital only release, but I have a feeling it's not great.
This song has received virtually no airplay (has anyone in the UK heard it on the radio) so nobody knows it's released apart from us fans. I was kinda hoping it would make the top 40 so that it would get played on many stations around the UK, but it hasn't.

I started a request thread a while ago but it wasn't very popular and it seems that not even the people here care enough to get it played, which is a shame.

REQUEST INFORMATION:

I'm going to list some information for requesting the song on UK radio stations.

Some stations have already played the single, but it has not made any playlists as far as I know and so will not get many spins. To increase the airplay we need to convince the stations that they should playlist the song. The only way to do that is to request, request, request.

Anybody from any country can request though, so give it a go.

If anybody wants to add more contact information to the thread I'll move it to the top when I see it.

The song was played last night at around 7:30 on 2CRs Music control show, which is broadcast on many station nationally (see www.musicradio.com).

It was also played on KISS FM (totalkiss.com) according to another poster on this board.
 
TGIM was played on Mercia FM (West Midlands Radio Station) last night, the DJ said he'd been having requests for it all evening :)

That;s good news. It started to get more radio play over the past week so that's bound to have helped.

It needs more and more radio play to let people know it's available so keep requesting guys, only another week until the physical single release and we don't want it to slip down again...
 
The Girl is Mine is now at no 3 on the HMV coming soon singles :punk:.



They must have lots of pre-orders all ready!
 
Been on to amazon uk and "the girl is mine" is the 10th best selling single of the week. Going to buy my copy in hmv on wednesday, can't wait, just e-mailed 3 radio stations asking them to play it
 
I can't wait to buy it and add an addition sale.. :)
