“This is where Michael and his siblings were born. The building is now vacant. It was built in 1907, originally with 20 beds. In 1993, it had 300 beds. The hospital was typically referred to "Mercy Hospital" though it was officially St. Mary's Mercy Hospital, with a subsequent name to St. Mary's Medical Center in 1974. Below are recent photos taken by me and a post card of the hospital and its appearance in 1921. The buildings look somewhat different but do share some similarities, too.”

…. Such a shame.. I hope, somehow, it’ll be renovated one day, it used to be a nice facility care, and there’s never too many of them. …

All Katherine and Joseph's children, with the exception of Jackie and Rebbie, will apparently be born in this hospital.

Personally, I find it sad. We will never have enough care facilities, it's shameful. But the economic difficulties sank the city of Gary. I sincerely pity the inhabitants of this city.

I had never thought about the hospital where MJ was born until now. Wow, it's fascinating!

Last summer, I was bored and wanted to research Michael's birth. I thought he was born at home but this is not the case because apparently he would have been born in this disused hospital. Sad.

The video I saw, it broke my heart.

I looked up a bunch of stuff ahead of my trip to Gary, but I never thought of the hospital.

Yeah, that's a sad video.

This reminds me of a scene that traumatized me a bit when I was little. I was watching the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast" (which I can't stand) and there's a scene at one point that really freaks me out, it's when the girl goes into the other girl's room and it's ultra creepy, all the furniture is overturned, the atmosphere is heavy, even murky, and the walls are in a bad state.

It's a scene that really struck me and when I saw the video, I immediately thought of it.
