The Official 'Michael' Bio-Pic Thread

Beautiful part of the world. Love the south of France šŸ‘Œ

I’m Surrey, London, England. Which is also beautiful.

I’ve been so looking forward to going to this for ages but, due to being in the middle of chemotherapy, my specialists have said going into public places would probably kill me at the moment - as my blood cells and immune system are through the floor šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Oh well. I intend to experience it all, vicariously, through my fellow MJ fans šŸ‘

My wife said ā€œwe’ll get it on blu ray and watch it on the big TV, when it’s outā€, bless her heart ā¤ļøšŸ˜‚

I so wanted my first ever IMAX to be watching MJ’s nephew doing him proud, the music blasting out, and dancing in my seat with like minded people.

Maybe I’ll be well enough for Parts 2 & 3!!šŸ‘ŒšŸ˜‰

So the earliest we could get Part 2 is spring 2028.

Bank holiday weekend here in Ireland too, that should help it. Not sure how much of a cross over audience there is between it and The Devil Wears Prada 2.
As of today its the opening day of Devil Wears Prada...I chose Michael..this is my sophomore and beyond viewing...keeps getting better....its not slow burn either its like your apetite has just been whett

Prince Jackson, Michael Jackson's eldest son, shares intimate memories of his childhood with the King of Pop in his only Australian interview. The 29-year-old executive producer discusses growing up at Neverland Ranch, his father's parenting style, and private moments like stargazing on rooftops in the Middle East. He reflects on the emotional experience of watching his cousin Jaafar portray his father in the new blockbuster biopic that's breaking box office records worldwide

us box office ( wednesday):

( $7,239,644)( $123,225,941)( 6 days).
So it hasn't been one week in the States yet...

I was curious to see how the movie would do compared to This Is It... It appears to be doing a lot better!! Sure, this is a professional movie, that was "only" a rehearsal. But it was Michael and the Michaelmania was at it's highest in the aftermath of his passing... at least since the 90's.

Closing the film with Bad live was a masterstroke. Every viewing I've been to everybody has loved that part and been grooving along
The way they mixed the song, they've put something in it I swear. It just thumps through the speakers. I remember saying before going I hope they remember MJs phrase "hurt me" and boy did they. LOVE IT!!!

How does the site work? Do they have polls? How is there such a differnce in % (38% and 96%) and what do these numbers refer to?
It's ok. If you don't understand how the website works then it's not worth trying to be upset by it.

I was just glued to hearing one of my favourite songs live as loud as possible.
I just really don't understand why most people seemingly don't give a shit about sound quality of music they play at home.

Is it just me that finds facts and positions in a chart east to understand? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜‚

I bet JB fans aren’t questioning how he’s number 1. He just is at the moment because he’s the most popular.

Not really, the first film ended before they even happened. If they make a second one and just totally ignore it I don't really see the point.

It seems they cannot dramatise it in any way so not sure what they're gonna do.
I just hope they realize that the only reason why people are happy with the first movie being a "celebration" of Michael is because this was accurate for the time period covered by the first part. But this would NOT be acceptable for a part 2. They need to find a way to put the truth out there about 1993, just skipping it won't do. This is their one chance to correct the false narrative and let the public hear the Evan Chandler recorded phone tape, so if they don't do EVERYTHING in their power to make that happen, they can expect a lot of angry people. When they say, "We've tried, but the settlement agreement..." I just want to tell them exactly what Michael told Walter Yetnikoff when they wouldn't play his video on MTV: "You haven't tried hard enough." In the best case scenario, they need to either find a loophole or get Jordan Chandler to agree to be depicted. In the worst case scenario, Graham King should do a separate short film on his own to cover just the 1993 allegations without the estate. But skipping the Evan Chandler recorded phone call is not okay with me, not when it is the strongest piece of evidence that Michael was innocent. If the estate cares at all about Michael's legacy, they will not let that phone call be forever buried as if it never existed. You're a lawyer, Branca, find a way.

It was crazy mate, I knew Bad was going to the finish the biopic and the build up is the same as the Bad Tour, but man if it didn't hook me in.

I jumped out my seat on first viewing, when the beat finally kicked in and the camera zoomed in on Jaafar and he's nailing that Mike pose.
One my favourite moments from the biopic

Well f**king said.

Try harder.

Jaafar implemented the role perfectly but a lot was left out we are the world Captain eo the creation of bad short films the time jump from 84 to 88 Bad Tour Wembley was too big

So I finally got around to watching the movie. Jaafar was great and the whole cast did a good job—it’s always awesome to celebrate Michael and his legacy. But honestly, the storytelling felt pretty flat. You don’t really get any closer to understanding him as a person.

Leaving out key parts like his complicated JW background, Diana Ross, Janet (basically acting like one of the world’s biggest stars didn’t exist), We Are the World, feels like a big gap. Instead, there are multiple scenes of him watching TV, playing with Bubbles or reading Peter Pan.

I also don’t think the movie works well if you’re not into his music. A biopic like Bohemian Rhapsody is enjoyable even if you’re not a Freddie Mercury fan, but this one feels more like a two-hour MJ commercial without much real depth.

Sorry guys, just being honest.

An E!News EXCLUSIVE!
Michael’s Juliano Valdi Reveals Jackson Family’s Reaction
to His Portrayal of Young Michael Jackson!

🫶Juliano Krue Valdi is proud of the way he made the Jackson family feel.

šŸ‘‘Juliano's talks about Micheal Jackson:🫶
After all, the 12-year-old encountered various members of Michael Jackson’s legendary family on the set of the biopic Michael, where he played a younger version of the late King of Pop.

ā€œI knew that when they thought so highly about me, they were really confident in me,ā€ Juliano told E! News in an exclusive interview, ā€œI had a big responsibility. I had to take care of that—like taking care of a baby, basically, being so gentle with it.ā€

And while the actor had fun performing as Michael—Jaafar Jackson plays the ā€œThrillerā€ singer’s adult counterpart—he admitted, ā€œIt was a lot of pressure. I had to make everyone proud because they thought that I could play Michael Jackson.ā€

But Juliano wasn’t just concerned about the Jacksons seeing the movie’s final product. Indeed, Michael’s mom Katherine Jackson, sister La Toya Jackson and brother Marlon Jackson would periodically visit the set to see the cast in action.

ā€œI remember the first day I saw the Jackson family,ā€ he continued. ā€œI remember seeing Katherine, and when I saw her I wanted to make her proud. So, I just brought Michael's energy to the screen as close as I can.ā€
And after inhabiting The Jackson 5 alum during his early days in music, Juliano is hoping viewers walk away with a new perspective of Michael.

ā€œI hope that they can understand who Michael was on a deeper level,ā€ he said of the movie, which is in theaters now. ā€œThey can understand who he was when he wasn't on stage, who he was as a person. And I also want them to feel groovy in that Michael Jackson mode.ā€

What about Diana Ross and Janet Jackson did not agree to be in the movie don't you get??

What do you know about it's not enjoyable, if you're not into his music? You are, so you can't speak for people who aren't.
