hey, is the Max-Jax site down for you too? because their mp3 player isn't showing up for me...

your idea of hosting the flash file on a proper host site was smart (i remember it from the test forum), i think that's what i'll do too.
 
Yeah, it's down. Just a week or two after I find out how to use the darn things.

I stopped hosting the files, guess I'll start up again and make sure I can use them properly this time.

*Yep, think I got it working. I grabbed the files from here: http://www.macloo.com/examples/audio_player/

Then I followed the instructions. Fileden doesn't allow .js extensions, so I just renamed the extension to .mp3 but the link works fine just the same.

here's a 7" i came across in a charity shop, from 1971 on a lesser-known soul label. it's a female artist, but backed by a very J5-esque band called The Four Shades Of Black (i even think they got a lil' MJ impersonator heh!). the first one has all the hallmarks especially in the production, and the second is much more laid back:

I'm a huge fan of Soul/R&B music. I would say the 60's/70's is the best era for Soul music, as there were many great singers/groups around that time.
