Definitely agreed regarding the lyric video! They should've at least made it Michael-related. Even just a silhouette, or the toe stand, a fedora, a simple moonwalk animation, some iconography? Or a creative use of concert footage. But there's nothing. It looks like synthwave, wasn't that popular during yesteryear? Teens on TikTok certainly aren't going to care, neither will the old guard. I haven't even actually seen it, but the screenshots make me not want to watch.
Also, lol... The Chris Brown thing is all kinds of ironic. He himself is, at least according to my own personal standards, much more problematic than MJ ever was. Yet Michael Jackson is the problem here?? I'd have respected him sticking to his guns if he hadn't been Chris Brown. (I'm admittedly biased since I used to be a big fan of him as a teen, like as hardcore as I am about MJ right now, but... well, broken pedestals, in short.) The hypocricy is astounding and makes me very angry.
