Value in killing Michael?

I totally know what you mean. Right after he died, I started hearing his music in commercials for stupid things like Party City. I had never heard his music for stuff like that (Please correct me if I am wrong). My sister and I were like WT Heck??

I noticed this too, they have been using jackson jingles on adverts for confectionary, I'm curious at who authorised this and who is profiting from this? I get the feeling MJ would not have wanted his music used this way.

i guess the estate can authorise it and the estate gets the money.but it depends on which songs it is. over the years mj never had his music on comp c.ds but over the last 5 years or so i saw him on more

Those are Motown owned songs. It would be Motown who benefits.

I've heard many fans come out saying that they think that Michael was murdered, myself included. My only objection to that theory is the thought that anyone would kill Michael and have a purpose. What is the value in killing Michael Jackson? How could anyone value from killing Michael? Better yet, what has he done to be murdered? Any thoughts?

He was murdered for control of his 50% Sony/Atv Music Publishing. This was accomplished when John (Sony) Branca took control of the Estate with a forged 7 year old "Will". If Katherine objects (of which she does secretly) shes cut off. While Branca Michael's "friend" is pocketing millions.

He was too successful for some. Many knew he would have to pay a price for this.

“Here Be Dragons” (originally titled “Freaks and the American Ideal of Manhood”). The whole essay is in his book: The Price of the Ticket

The Michael Jackson cacophony is fascinating in that it is not about Jackson at all. I hope he has the good sense to know it and the good fortune to snatch his life out of the jaws of a carnivorous success. He will not swiftly be forgiven for having turned so many tables, for he damn sure grabbed the brass ring, and the man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo has nothing on Michael.

All that noise is about America, as the dishonest custodian of black life and wealth; the blacks, especially males, in America; and the burning, buried American guilt; and sex and sexual roles and sexual panic; money, success and despair–to all of which may now be added the bitter need to find a head on which to place the crown of Miss America.

Freaks are called freaks and are treated as they are treated–in the main, abominably–because they are human beings who cause to echo, deep within us, our most profound terrors and desires.

James Baldwin 1985

Seriously? Add up the money and take a good look at who is making it!!
Always follow the money!

The estate is making enormous amounts of money, which is good for Michael's children. My hope is that the executors will privilege quality in terms of Michael's legacy, rather than only the business aspects.

Sony is making huge amounts of money. Michael's death turned their record sales AROUND, and his music, old and newer, has sold off-the charts. Sony was also co-investor in the TII movie, and has reaped profits from that. There is also money from the TII CD, and there will be more from the DVD. Also sales of Michael-related memorabilia.

AEG has not lost money from the canceled concerts. They are co-investors in the movie, and money was recouped from fans who chose to keep their tickets as souvenirs, rather than receive refunds. That amounted to about half of the ticket-sales. AEG has made money from the movie, as co-investors with Sony. There are memorabilia sales, as well. It remains to be seen if they will get an insurance pay-out, and how much?

The co-executors of the estate will make absolutely ENORMOUS amounts of money, as they get a percentage of profits made from the estate.

Regal cinemas (Anschutz) has made money from the TII movie.

Murray has not made money that we know of, but I'd like to know if he still has body-guards, and who is paying them?

Michael's family has made no money, with the exception of Katherine who gets a stipend, and of course, the children. Jermaine would LIKE to make money from some sort of tribute concert, and may have an interest in seeing if Neverland will become a theme-park. The brothers would like to make money from "the reality show," which could have more interest in it because of Michael's death. Don't know, though, if that show will continue? Joe Jackson is asserting that the will is "fake," although it's unclear if he would gain ANYTHING from invalidating the will? Early on, the family said Michael died without a will. If that had been the case, they would have inherited directly. That was NOT the case, though, and all but Katherine and the children were essentially cut out of any inheritance. Michael must have thought he gave the family enough in life, and didn't need to continue giving, in death. So be it.

I found it surprising that their is now a new "Kids Bop Beatles edition."

And you all are right. Now, I'm hearing Michael's and Beatles' music on television. I heard the Beatles's Come Together playing on a commercial. Michael owns that song.

And I also heard one of Elvis's songs on a commercial. Doesn't Michael own some of his music too?

Michael's, the Beatles's, and Elvis's song on different commercials, all airing at the same time? Tell me, when has that happened before?

Well the commercial for Party City was for Thriller. It was so bogus.

When politicans or ppl like that say there is no conspiracy........then, there always IS a conspiracy, trust me.
What is this world becoming......

Couldn't agree more although I don't remember hearing that or reading about it. I do remember Obama saying that he has a lot of MJ's songs on his iPod. When he spoke of MJ he spoke like a fan, it was sorta cute.

i remember that!

but yeah, Obama already has enough to deal with write now. and to start talking about MJ, that's just a whole load of it's own right there. and also, he might not want to say anything IF he has an idea that more bigger people are involved. really, the president at this time already has other things to deal with.
