Weakest MJ’s Lyrics

Well Guys, nothing is worser than this

"Everybody's watching the news on MICHAEL JACKSON. They wanna see that I'll fall cause I'm MICHAEL JACKSON"

How much of Unbreakable did he even write anyway? Calm down guyzz :)

How dare you! Breaking News is a fantastic work of genius, and bashing it should result in an instant ban!

It's not that it doesn't fit or make sense. It just sounds lame to me haha. From Jo Whiley's first play in 2001 til now. Always grated on me. It feels lazy I guess. Uninspired.

Jo Whiley played Unbreakable???

I'm not saying MJ was above criticism, that being said as a songwriter he was extraordinary and it was very rare he had an off day. Some artists nowadays make me cringe listening to their lyrics. It's like the lyrics are an after thought, whereas with Michael it seemed like every word mattered. :cheeky:

you ppl should read damian ******* book on mj's music when u see all the trouble he went thru to approve even one song u wouldnt judge his music too harshly.

His weakest lyrics are on par with this generation's 'hits' lol :p . I agree though that Can't Let Her Get Away is very very random - but not exactly bad lyrically. Invincible does have kinda unnatural lyrics but... I think A Place With No Name has the weakest ones - even though I love the song.

Not quite lyrics, but the fact that one man got millions of people around the world saying hee hee and hoo when they dance and sing is pretty badass ;)

I was listening to Elizabeth, I love you earlier today (on the radio)...the lyrics to that are so tacky and kitsch.

Was this some internet radio? I really can't imagine a proper radio station playing that song ... :p

I also dislike a lot of the lines in APWNN. "She started liking me, kissing me and hugging me" being a particularly bad one.

Agreed, I'd say APWNN has the weakest lyrics overall. (especially the "..really lookin' like a lot of fun" always bothers me for some reason.)

That whole song is really...not good.

I get it, the idea is sweet, and I would melt if Michael Jackson was my best friend and wrote a song JUST FOR ME, but it is a terrible song, lol.

Hmm-I never counted it as a real song-it was just a one off for a tribute show. And super sweet. :)

Kinda like the Sammy Davis, Jr. song-which is even sweeter. I cried all through THAT show and especially Michael's song-back in the day.

I disagree, its one of MJs finest pieces.

Elizabeth I Love You is corny as hell lol. It is very heartwarming and everything, but it's just too much lol :p . And it's not radio material.

The corny (or kitsch) lyrics fit perfectly with that corny (or kitsch) celebration…

You can look at Elizabeth I Love You as a musical letter or a musical note to a close friend, when written on paper it doesn't look so "corny" but a rather lovely poem that anyone would like to get.

I know... it didn't sound weird when he sang it there, but I dunno.. I never listen to it like I listen to his other songs.

It might be kitsch, but I still love it, and it had a great stage performance.
I hope we get it one day on an album, and the performance on blu-ray.
