Janet orchestrating Jackson 5 reunion?

Janet Jackson has dismissed reports she is shunning a Jackson 5 reunion tour, insisting she's the one urging her siblings to go ahead with the gigs.
The R&B star was alleged to have refused a support slot on the group's planned world tour, which her older brother Jermaine Jackson is trying to organise.
But she claims she'd be delighted to hit the road with her family, if only the rest of the legendary band would agree to the tour.
She tells Larry King, "I would love to (tour with them). I get my brothers on the phone all the time. I'm the biggest fan of the Jacksons, The Jackson 5."
"I have conference calls all the time pushing them to do a huge tour. I tell them if they did, I would love to open for them."
"I have never opened for anyone. My very first tour, I was the headline. It was a nation(wide) tour. I never opened for anyone. It would be an honor."
But when asked which of her siblings is refraining from the comeback tour, she refuses to confirm reports it's Michael, coyly adding: "They would love to, but one of them is on the fence. You have to respect that. He's worked very hard at his solo career. I don't know. Maybe he'll come around. Still kind of working on him."

Michael Jackson

By Nigel Gould
It is the biggest selling album of all time - and little wonder. Thriller, Michael Jackson's classic album, boasts everything you would want from a pop record.

It was genius from beginning to end - indeed the most complete album ever.

Now, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, Thriller has been given a slight makeover - with new and previously unreleased bonus tracks.

Helping Jackson spruce up PYT is Will.i.am while Kanye West lends a hand for Billie Jean.

For the purists, all the original tracks are included - and they all sound as fresh as they did 25 years ago.

More Jackson house debts revealed

Singer Michael Jackson has repeatedly failed to pay the mortgage of a Los Angeles house used by his family, public documents show.
The news comes after it was revealed that he could lose his Neverland ranch because of arrears of $25m (£12.5m).
Documents filed with the Los Angeles country recorder relate to a property in Encino, California, that has been used by the singer's family for years.
They show the singer has missed payments of $153,910 (£77,589).
The missed payments relate to a $4m (£2m) loan from mortgage lender Indymac Bancorp, based in Pasadena, California.
Documents show Jackson previously faced possible default over missed payments on the property due in April and August of last year.
According to reports, the 49-year-old is seeking a new loan that would save Neverland from being sold at auction next month.
If he does not pay the $25m arrears that he owes on the sprawling California property, it will go to auction on 19 March.

However, despite finishing with bronze medals, both Mystic Motion novice team and the Ice Precise adult team will accompany Ice E-Motion.
Mystic Motion, skating to music from the Trans Siberia Orchestra in the 12-16 age group, is striving to earn its third straight medal at the Canadians since the team’s inception in 2005.
Ice Precise adult, made up of 19-year-olds, skated to a medley of music by Michael Jackson, and will attempt to reclaim its Canadian championship title for a third straight year.

WHISPER WAR" was recorded late last year with Matt Squire (Cute Is What We Aim For, All Time Low) producing and additional production by Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy). The album expertly melds The Cab's avowed love for the soulful pop stylings of Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson, with a punk and rock 'n' roll sensibility informed by such bands as Blink-182 and The Bled.

N-D: Who's your favorite band/musical artist?

Hawkins: My favorite artist of all time, since I'm from Gary, Ind., I've gotta show love to Michael Jackson, I don't care what people say

What is the first record you bought?
Michael Jackson, Thriller. It was on those big discs, what were they called? I must have been six or seven. It was destroyed a long time ago. I've moved house about 10 times since then!

If you ever get to see Footprint, you will see some familiar things. Gumboot dancing is remarkably similar to modern-day stepping, fraternity-sorority style. There also were about three or four dance moves that seemed to have been the inspiration for Michael Jackson’s Thriller routine.

Big name (and long time) acts like Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson are now joining a huge barrage of newer musical artists in trying to hawk CDs and MP3 files over the Web. But what will it take for these musicians to convince you to buy?

Now what I do not understand about the house in Los Angeles is that why is Micheal the only one paying for this? I think this house was paid for in the 80's and Michael paid of it? Anyway, Michael is not the only child of Joe and Katherine.

I agree with this. And also, wasn't the family house situation settled awhile ago? If so the media are grasping at straws.

This is a gross intrusion into the jackson financial affairs and it is a Roger friedman report that the BBc as copied. The floodgates are now op[en, Shame on the BBC for reporting this. It has nothing to do with the public.:(
Also, that was old news. Roger reported on it last year when he sent cameramen and reporters round to Encino to see the Jacksons evicted, only the eviction never happen, so now he has brought it back up again to fill his pages. I thought we were going to ignore Roger?

At least the original AP article mentions that: "Documents dated Feb. 7 show the notice of default was withdrawn."

It's really a non-story that the media just now decided to run with to capitalize off the back of the Neverland story, by all accounts the matter has been resolved for over three weeks.

it was settle a while ago.. and if you read the original AP article.. the verbs are all in the past tense... and did make slight mention he did pay all the pass due amounts..

BUT

the media wants to make a point... like when they only photograph people with him.. if they are children...

it truly is a gross intrusion into Michael's privacy.. but what the media doesn't realize
this helps Michael appeal to John Doe.. because John Doe is saying.. he is going thru what we all are going thru.. why do they keep picking on him???

and they are also asking..why Michael has to be the one financing everyone???

I wonder if it will real work though. I think more people are starting to question the media and think for themself.

Very true. I stopped listening to the news a long time ago and I do not buy the papers anymore, all because of what I have seen with their behaviour to Michael. Before I became a fan I would never have believed that the media was capable of such dishonesty. My eyes are wide open now.:(

YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10: Break out the champagne—there will be two albums in six figures next week. Woo-hoo! Topping the chart will be the debuting Janet Jackson, whose first album for Def Jam/IDJ is moving toward 170-180k. She’ll be followed by Universal Motown left-of-center diva Erykah Badu, who should bow with 125-135k. Jack Johnson (Brushfire/Universal Republic), who spent the last three weeks at #1, will likely fall two places while chalking up a still-robust 85-90k. A third debut is next, as Webbie (Trill/Atlantic) trends toward 60-65k. Chart perennial Alicia Keys (J/RMG) will fight it out for #5 with the similarly leggy Hannah Montana 2 (Disney) in the 55-60k region, followed closely by the Oscar-fueled Once (Canvasback/Columbia) with a projected 55-60k. Michael Jackson’s Thriller (Sony/Legacy) and Juno (Rhino) are on a collision course toward 40-45k, which brings us to the #9-13 slots. The order of their finish is presently too close to call, as Amy Winehouse (Universal Republic), the debuting Shawty Lo (Asylum), the surging Sara Bareilles (Epic), Mary J. Blige (Geffen) and Step Up 2 (Atlantic) all occupy the 30-35k hood. So that’s four soundtracks in the first 13 slots, for what it’s worth. (2/29a)

TERRELL!!!!! How are you?

Thank you for saying that. I have been trying to understand why can his other siblings pay for the mortgage. I know the siblings have some change.

but what the media doesn't realize
this helps Michael appeal to John Doe.. because John Doe is saying.. he is going thru what we all are going thru.. why do they keep picking on him???

Exactly. A lot of people are going through the same thing that MJ is supposedly going through and the average Joe can relate to that. They can also relate if they are a person that has money and have to give money to everyone and pay for everything.

Topping the chart will be the debuting Janet Jackson, whose first album for Def Jam/IDJ is moving toward 170-180k

Now, that is good news. I knew that she would debut high. Good for the woman.

Michael Jackson’s Thriller (Sony/Legacy) and Juno (Rhino) are on a collision course toward 40-45k,

Thriller 25 is still doing its thing. :)

Thanks for the news, people.

Hmmmm...

If it's Mike, I wonder if he's sitting on the fence because he first wants to finish fully concentrating on what he is presently working on before joining the family?

Years back from what ive read mj became owner of 50% of the house supposedly latoya and katherine had the other 50%. whether its the same re latoya etc who knows but mj obviously took out a morgage on his 50% or more if he owns the entire house now. thats why hes the only one paying it because its his degt that he took out and used the house as colleteral. the whole thing is crazy.i woould like to know what all these loans were needed for cause they certainly havnt made him the sort of money u would expect when taking out 25mill etc loans. its crazy takeing on so much debt what idiots advised this (dont ask)

Michael Jackson's lawyers settled another court case this Wednesday. Michael Bruce Abelson, the star's former lawyer filed for a dismissal 2 days ago. Abelson sued Jackson back in 2007 for allegedly unpaid bills.

In other Jackson related court news, Henry Vaccaro filed an intervention in the Universal Express case. Vaccaro wants to get back some of the Jackson stuffs.

You are always up in MJ's financial business. Why should it matter what he took it out for, it's his house, he does what he wants with it, and if he defaults on his bills it really shouldn't be the worlds business either, but the whole damn world and they momma can't help putting they nose into Mj's private affair. As long as MJ isn't seeking wealfare or stealing from his neighbours or pushing drugs, why should it be anyones business what he does with his money.
And before I hear anymore fans suggest what some have already suggested on another forum, MJ is a businessman. He buys catalogues and other stuff. He needs money to buy them so he has to use his assets as security. Also with the number of lawsuits that he faces each year, lawyers have to be paid and he needs money to pay them. He uses his assets to get the cash to pay, also he pays his ex-wife a wapping amount each year, that has to come from somewhere. he is taking care of his business. It's just that other people won't take care of theirs.:(

'
Yes, in 06 during the refinacing of the Sony/atv loan, mj bought out his laywer John Branco who wanted to cash in his share of the catalogue which was 5%. MJ bought it off him. This was exactly the same time he remortage Neverland and for the same amount of money. This was what comfirmed in my mind that the large loan wasn't a Michael Loan but a business loan by Sony/Atv, cause if it was MJ's personal loan all MJ would have needed to do was to include the money he needed for the purchase of the catalogue with the refinancing. He wouldn't have needed to take out a further loan.
