Happy Birthday Derek1984 šŸŽ‚šŸ€

But I think this week might be a downer, with a title like ā€žCarouselā€œ.
I just hope it’s not the 13th track & this prediction reg. CGOTR & Sunset Driver comes true.
Let ā€žCarouselā€œ be the first track on CD2 & also the last of the already released ones.
Give us leaked & unreleased stuff.
-Carousel
-Hot Street
-Niteline
-x?x?x
-Chicago1945

I feel the same about Sunset Driver. It's a good song, great even, but I don't want it on here.
I don’t want it either, but I can see a fair case being made for its inclusion (ā€œwe want this to be the most comprehensive reissue ever!ā€). And at least it’s a solid song; CGOTR is just… stupid.

Chicago 1945 will not release in that album and buffalo bill too

I wasn’t sold on ā€œChicago 1945ā€ until they announced ā€œWhat a Lovely Way to Go.ā€ I still don’t think Steve Porcaro would be actively reworking it for a reissue, but clearly they aren’t against including unheard, finished/mostly finished songs, so it’s possible.

U are wrong what a lovely way to go it's before off the wall .it's not like buffalo bill and Chicago 1945 because both recorded after thriller .buffalo bill after bilie jean .and Chicago 1945 for triumph album .if they will release unheard song they can release rolling the dice .because it was recorded for thriller

So underwhelming. I like Sunset Driver but it has already been released before.

Wasn't the song written in 1978 originally? I feel like they're lying about the origins of the songs just to say that it's from Thriller and it's a valid inclusion.

well.. alright..
please just confirm Hot street soon, and yeah.. would be nice if it comes along with Niteline.. it would be disappointing if there would be this The Wiz song and not the two aforementioned songs..

Pretty sure that was never confirmed. Given that it was recorded and mixed by two men MJ first met in the early 1980s, I think it’s safe to call it a Thriller outtake.

This was another song Michael originally wrote for the ā€œThrillerā€ album. Although Michael also considered it for ā€œBadā€, he never finished it but released it as a bonus track on The Ultimate Collection in 2004. It was also one of the songs featured in the Ubisoft game, ā€œMichael Jackson: The Experienceā€. The mixer on the original 1982 demo was Bill Bottrell who would go on to co-produce tracks on Michael’s Dangerous album. Hit the link in stories pre-order to #Thriller40 now.

Yeah, as expected. They’re clearly going for the ā€œmost comprehensive reissueā€ route. Not ideal for those of us who have already heard it, but hey, I still love the song. For me, it’s one of those ā€œah wellā€ moments.
True. It's still a good song, so it's not the worst thing ever. I still have a hard time thinking it's a Thriller era song, when for X years I've thought it was Off the Wall!!

The book Man In The Music says that it was written in 1978 and reworked throughout the Thriller and Bad era. The Estate is writing out as if the song is 100% from the Thriller era which doesn't seem to be the case. That's why I think they're changing up the story to make it look like a valid inclusion for the album.

So, four more songs to go. It's now very obvious that two of them will be most likely CGOTR & Carousel. The remaining songs will be either Hot Street & Nightline; or Starlight & Slapstick or INH & MTS.

The sound of the music & his vocals on ā€žSunset Driverā€œ scream OTW to me…
For me itā€˜ll probably always an OTW era song.
Already released also. That is underwhelming.
If CGOTR is now to be expected, the room for some rare gems is getting less.

So what options are left?
Carousel definitely

So what for the remaining 3 spots?
Anything else from thriller era that was released before apart from CGOTR?
