I kinda refuse to believe they put Starlight on the disc sounding like that, but I also totally believe it, lol. Hoping it's a bad rip or something.

I get the impression that most of MJ’s pre-Bad demos were very bare bones. It seems like he didn’t really put effort into making them sound like completed productions until the mid-1980s.The Toy and Who Do You Know are really starting to grow on me, I feel like I judged too early lol. The instrumentals are definitely lacking though.
I agree! I’m honestly shocked that it sounds this developed vocally. I was expecting something simpler, but it even has backing vocalists.I feel like the 2010 remix has to be heard because the vocals definitely have potential.
yea they just ripped their CD, but they won't post the entire albumSo this person from the Twitter account got their copy early and decided to post snippets only, is that it?
Is this mixed on purpose this way? Kinda to make the 2010 remix superior??
Seems so, yes.So this person from the Twitter account got their copy early and decided to post snippets only, is that it?
Yeah, listening back now with headphones, it’s on par with the XSCAPE demos for the most part. Hopefully some more people got their hands on it and can confirm whether or not it’s just a bad rip.I kinda refuse to believe they put Starlight on the disc sounding like that, but I also totally believe it, lol. I'd say it's a person who doesn't know EAC exists and ripped it in 128kbps using whatever software they have.Yeah, listening back now with headphones, it’s on par with the XSCAPE demos for the most part. Hopefully some more people got their hands on it and can confirm whether or not it’s just a bad rip.
Omg when the harmonie comes ‘i am forever’, pure goosebumps!!
It's hardly a bad rip, the other demos sound ok at the very least. Starlight sounds just bad.Yeah, listening back now with headphones, it’s on par with the XSCAPE demos for the most part. Hopefully some more people got their hands on it and can confirm whether or not it’s just a bad rip.

At least in the context of the book it makes some sense. They’re still horribly written, but… hey… gotta find the positives…?I'm loving that the blurbs in the booklet are the same awful ones they posted online when announcing the tracks.
Tbf though She's Trouble is the only song that's finished, maybe that's why it sounds better in comparison.Based on those snippets, She's Trouble never sounded so good and easily best of the bunch...
The toy have a triumph vibe, Lovely Way and who do you know have a destiny vibe for meIf you told me The Toy demo was recorded in 2008, I'd believe it. Really odd but amazing at the same time.
True. Also sounds the strongest. Like I can almost see why Trouble almost made the album and the rest never got past the demo stage.Tbf though She's Trouble is the only song that's finished, maybe that's why it sounds better.
Really a shame that Hot Street & Nightline aren't on this releaseBased on those snippets, She's Trouble never sounded so good and easily best of the bunch... Not what I was expecting.
I'm actually really glad that Hot Street isn't on this album, the song is Imo one of the best songs in the vault and it wouldn't be fair to put it on an album with lackluster demos such as this one. It deserves a better release on an album like Xscape or on an album with better outtakes.Really a shame that Hot Street & Nightline aren't on this release
Behind the Mask (Mike’s Mix)” — It’s more or less the Phillinganes instrumental with MJ’s vocals. Plus, it turns out there WAS a third verse with mumbled/nonsensical lyrics.
