Sheikh Abdullah: "Michael Is A Dear Friend"

Hmm...actually, I dont like it. "Michael, you're a dear friend, but I'm sueing your a$$....." sounds a bit strange to me

The thing to me is that I really like the way he responded to this coz the media /tabloid probably thought that he will start bashing MJ to give validity to their other ish 'claims' about MJ and the Sheikh over the years but the he is having none of it.

Bet you anything that whatever is happening etc in this case it won't be made public and after his response regarding MJ Fr***** and others won't be able to write BS about this without loosing credibility.

That is true. I respect him for in, In all probability he was genuinely happy to have MJ with him, afterall, MJ did put that country on the map, so to speak. But as I said, MJ was in no fit shape to be talking about contracts, and he should never have been doing such wothout his advisors and lawyers. MJ was completey naked, figuratively, when he went there. That is not the way to do business. The shheik should have known better.

In an interview to Times Online, prince Abdullah bin Hamad al-Khalifa of Bahrain talked about his friendship with Michael Jackson. After the child molestation trial, Michael had spent several month in Bahrain as a guest of the sheikh and the two had also worked on musical projects. In 2007, the sheikh sued Michael Jackson in London’s High Court (United Kingdom).

“All I will say is that Michael is a dear friend,” says Sheikh Abdullah. “It is a business problem. It is not personal. But let me tell you: Michael is not at all weird or bizarre. He is one of the most down-to-earth, sweetest guys I’ve ever met.”

sorry but who this sheikh????

Sheikh Abdullah is a billionair..

which makes it even more pathetic thats hes sueing mj. dear friend lol go give jermaine some money to pay his child support instead of sueing mj.

you need to read up on your MJ history ;)

:wtf2: i meant drugs as illegal drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, heroine etc

i know hes been addicted to painkillers once in late 1993

U need to not be rude and tell a true longtime dedicated fan to read up their idols history

Thanks for posting. Good to know.

Well, if someone is your friend, would you still sue them? Just asking. I can't believe that this guy is suing MJ and then saying it is a business manner and not a personal manner. Business can be personal.

Well, this is my opinion, but I think it was downright disingenuous of the sheik to try and trap Mike into a record deal at a time when he was trying to recouperate from a most horreendous ordeal How was the man to think straight? Not right. Everybody trying to use this man. I am happy that Mike bailed out.:)

You said it! ^_^

I don't think he is suing MJ for $$$$, it may be that he just wants MJ to commit to doing something with/for the label coz he knows that having MJ's involvement in music will be g8 for the label (global appeal). I mean I never heard of the label until MJ was 'rumoured' to be involved back then. That's my take anyway.

yes but if michael is not up to it he cant force him to do it right lol

sueings always about money lol u cant get a court to order mj to do something with his label. hes a royal who obviously fancies getting into showbiz like the prince of brunie creating a nonsense recod label..its all very tacky and hopefully his kiss ass comments are to get mj to settle in some way.

AW: Re: Sheikh Abdullah: "Michael Is A Dear Friend"

I don't think he will win. MJ has a strong defence, alll he needs to prove is that he went there to recuperate after a tramatic experoience and he was ill. MJ did not travel there to do business, he went to get well. The sheik will have a difficut time with this case, esp if there is a jury. :)
Huh?? I don't know where you live, but being exhausted doesn't give you a legal right to back out of a contract, without fullfilling what you've agreed to fullfill, in the first place!

I can very well imagine Michael to agree to go along with the prince's plans without really having any serius intention to do it, like he always does, but when he did that press conference with Guy Holmes, that was more than a year after the trial, so by then Michael should have realized what he has agreed to and should have put a stop to the precedings then and there!! I also can imagine the prince feeling betrayed, after hosting Michael for more than a year, after the press conference of them announcing the plans and Michael suddenly backing out!

I'm glad though, that the prince is taking the high road and talks positive about Michael! I'm also glad, that besides Friedbrain nobody is really paying any attention to the story!

I just wonder why the prince should have known better!? After all that has happened Michael should have known better to not lightheartedly agree to something without his lawyers present! And again, I find it funny how (almost) everyone automatically faults the billonaire prince!

I don't think he will win this in a british court though, do you" Cause all MJ needs to prove is that he was in no fit state of mind to be making decisions about business. He was not with his lawyers or advisers and he felt confused.^_^

Yes, we saw how good that worked when Marcel Avram took him to court for another lighthearted promise which Michael eventually backed out! Michael's responses where "I don't know!" and "I don't remember" and the result was that Avram won!
