RUMOR or FAKE: MJ New Album 5/20/08

I wouldn't trust those lists because they could take their info from fan boards or rumours as well as from Sony. I don't think Sony would send info that says "TBA"..
 
From a marketing point of view, the release should come this year, and not too late in the year either. I say this because executives will want to take full advantage of the impact T25 will have, and ride that hype, and use it to their advantage. 6 months after Thriller 25 is more than enough time between the albums.

But, stranger things have happened, haven't they? :p

No, that cdon link has expired.. if you click any flag and search for Michael Jackson.. two different ones come up.. Michael Jackson and Jackson Michael (which has all the usual stuff) but the Michael Jackson one has a page about TBA... it even has a price of 159 SEK
 
I am sorry but being realistic I don't see this as an approach Michael will be making considering that Thriller25 was only just released and this is now the beginning of what has been advertised as a year long promotion of Thriller. A new album would interfere with Thriller 25 plans. I personally think Michael should ride Thriller 25 for all he can, because whether a fan or not... everybody loved Thriller! This is a good way to celebrate the past and at the same time use the product to reintroduce another generation and remind the old just what and who Michael Jackson is to build anticipation and excitement for the new material to come later.

You are right, however I still don't trust this release date info and even if it is correct it can still be delayed as we have seen time and time again. I think the release date will be influenced by the success of Thriller 25 and therefore they won't do anything definate until they ride that for some time to test the water for marketing/promotional strategies.
