Thriller 25 proving that MJ still has very good Sales Potential

;) Besides I could care less if a fan buys or doesn't buy T25, I just hope all the money goes in MJ's pocket just so he can flash it in Roger Chickenman's face. ;)

"I'm RICH, beeyotch!!!!"

i think MJ already achieved that...and from the looks of things..ol rog lost a lot of hair over it:D:lol:

Yep. I'm sick of all the people complaining about people not buying "Thriller" and I'm as sick of people buying "Thriller" yet talking smack about people who didn't "buy it" and then both sides going on and on and on and on...

I mean seriously is Michael Jackson the only artist that makes people act sadiddy up in here!?!

he is the most beautiful lightning rod in the world. he is an exciting artist..in more ways than one. he does ignite our passion...in more ways than one.... which is more than i can say for a lot of artists. although in that aretha thread...she may be starting to catch up a little...lol

Close but no cigar. Even the Queen of Soul gotta play second fiddle to the King of Pop. Thankfully she ain't a member of this board! :D

today I got me all 3 version but the DELUXE ROCKS, I will certainly get me another copy !!!

You know, I've read a lot of negative posts on here, but discussing whether they didn't ship enough copies of a product is NOT one of them. The product is moving with the copies that they DID ship, that's a fact.
well I think it is negative. As soon as michael appears to be selling well, ppl want to start throwing around the idea that maybe all of these stores didn't have enough copies. I wonder, when other artist sell well, if this same theory applies to them too. As if fans on the alicia keys boards ever say this: "ummmh alicia keys is selling very well, I wonder if this appears this way because j records didn't ship out enough so that's why it seems they are going so fast" All im saying is why can ppl just take the sell out for what it is instead of "maybe this" or "maybe that."

And if they didn't send out enough CDs, then it means that it's a way bigger success than was expected. If asking if the shipment wasn't large enough is too negative, wow. That's a really dumb reason for calling someone a naysayer. I've believed in MJ's ability to sell in high quantities all this time.

Terribly, terribly sad for anyone who would construe my inquiry as negative. Everything over the years has truly rendered some fans paranoid and overly defensive. It is cult-like to read it sometimes.

Anyway, MJ is the man, and T25 is kicking butt."

Seriously. "Negative people." Sigh.

Nobody ain't paranoid (a little annoyed not paranoid), cult-like, or anything else of the above (well I ain't). All I'm saying, and not just to you but to whoever made the comment, is this: Why (not saying that you cannot question it but WHY are you) mike's high sell's gotta be questioned with maybe they didn't ship out enough and that's why they're gone so fast. Why can't we just accept what is happing and be proven wrong if that's the case. I find that very odd that folks would think that way, when I have NEVER heard these types of comment before, with OTHER ARTIST.

And if you think what I'm saying is cult like or paranoid then oh well. I noticed that when someone don't agree with the other, they quick to call that fan defensive, when that's not the case. So... Lets not play the defensive fan-card when you don't like when someone disagrees. cuz besta believe I would bust out that big fat naysayer-troll-card right back at cha';).

but on a lighter note:

*Mikejoefan*: "hey girl you know what? I just went every music store in town and the eagles was sold out!"

*Friend*: "well chile I went to all the stores where I lived and sure enough there wasn't no cds left"

*Mikejoefan*: "well....You know what probably happened?

*Friend*: What?? :mello:

*Mikejoefan* "maybe Sony didn't ship that many and that's why they all gone"

^How stooopid does that sound :rollin:
Or.....Maybe just maybe the eagles sold out cuz ppl still want to hear their music. Period.

Rock on michael, Rock on:punk:!!!!

sure it's negative. cus no matter how many orders they bring in, they'll sell out. that's the real fact.

and if i'm paranoid..long live paranoia....MJ has earned it.:punk:
Well they darn well didn't send enough because they underestimated the magic of MJ. Now I hope this shortage in the shops doesn't hamper sales.:)

Okay the last two pages of this thread`are an absolute mess-up.

what the hell people...Mike selling a 25 year old album like mad and raking up the money..WE've waited for this glorious celebration for a while now and for all the crap he'd had to endure in the last couple of years -- this is rejuvenating!!

wooo hooo!! now go buy yerself another copy!!

yeah i brought mine to work and my boss was going psycho over this like asking me all kind of questions apparently he loves michael jackson from back in the day and he was going insane and asked me to make him a copy but i was like mike you need to just buy it man. i was really wanting to hear it while at work where i stock we usually have the radio on max with rap lil wayne then we went on break and i bought another thriller because i work at sams club i saw the walmart fanpack and grabbed that mug and asked the girl i work with to ring it up so anyway another buddy who is young but is also a night supervisor now quentin was like put that thriller on and i was like you sure and i was a lil nervous i didnt know at first so i go to my truck and grab my car thriller and pop it in and mannn...... everybody was jammin i really so was shocked wanna of the guys was like man i gotta admit i used to jam his stuff a while ago all of them said that lol and im like yeah right. but anyway they new it was jammin they loved human nature and tgim 08 and the original pyt they must have played those non stop it was like they almost didnt want the rap back on its weird because i work with mostly street guys and mann... i just boosted sells again everyone in the store was like o my god and the older ones were like yal remember this im getting this im telling you the cover and the best selling album of all time got them. and all of a sudden everybody at work was saying i have to admit michael is talented im not gonna lie so sells gonna be up.

Michael is standing in a corner laughing about this! He knew it...that it would happen such a hype about it and he is the one that's outselling all the contemporary artists with a 25 year old album! You go Michael the world is yours and you know it!!!

Now ain't that some b.s.? Least be HONEST! You hate him so much yet you buy one of his albums and on top of that have an excuse for it.

GET OUT OF HERE! You know once the promo for T25 dies, they'll be back to talking about his face and his money.

That's just it T, Michael's back catalogue sells very well even when he isn't in the news, you can look in that chart thread pinned up top and see how weekly his back catalogue outsells the catalogue's of his sister, Madonna, Mariah and other artists. Before T25 came out the 2001 edition regularly sold between between 60 and 120k yearly, surely fans weren't going out buying multiple copies constantly, it has to be those so called closet and non fans who keep buying his albums on a consistant basis and it's not just with Thriller either, Number Ones is always on the Billboard catalog chart and other albums that sell regularly are OTW, BAD, and Dangerous.

I'm so happy to see that Thriller 25 is doing so well. :D
Hope it will climb to no 1 soon.
but it's all so quiet in Singapore. It hardly gets any mentioning in the media and no promotion is done at all.

From HitsDailyDouble:

Jack Johnson continues to ride the waves of digital sales into another week at #1, with between 140-150k in sales for his Brushfire/Universal album, Sleep Through the Static.
The real story is at #2, where Sony Legacy’s deluxe 25th anniversary reissue of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, will rack up between 110-120k, not bad for an album first released in 1983.

It really amazes me how when michael is selling WELL, negative folks want to say "oh maybe the store didn't order enough." Now let any other artist sell well and it's all good. But when Michael Jackson does well you got ppl trying to knock that down. And when michael is possibly gonna chart #5 or higher (on a RE-RELEASE) you got complainers blabbing about "oh maybe he would have went #1 if he would have performed at the grammys" No matter what mike does he "just can't get right" with some folks. So annoying.

Are we really supposed to believe that all the stores, that where sold out, that all the members on here went to DIDN"T ORDER ENOUGH albums and "maybe" that's the only reason why michael is selling well? PLeazzzz!-_-

Darrnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn you EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVILLLLLLLLL trolls, DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDarn YOU!!!!!!

 I'm sorry I just had to yell that. The automatic negatively annoys me some times. Especially after I went to the store today and saw for myself how michael is kicking butt. oh but that's right maybe the stores I went to didn't order enough just like all the other stores.

Soooo true!!! "maybe the stors didnt order enough" or "it would have gone 2 #1 if he was @ the grammys" I excepted these words from NON-FANS!!! But to hear it in THIS Forum. from ppl. who say they support MJ??? I mean C'mon!!! seriously, we CAN NOT BE THAT naiive!!!:)....

Yes, let's start acting reasonable now and let the other person be the hostile one, after your hilarious fanboy ranting about how everyone who asked if the shipment wasn't large enough to satisfy the demand is a negative troll. As Chichi alluded, that's technically what happened anyway. I think it's actually positive if the sales exceeded expectations so much that there weren't enough available, but okay.

But yes, you're still acting loony. The real problem is that you've pretty much said that fans like me who are pretty happy it's doing so well are being cynical, when really all I did was make a pretty damn logical inquiry. Well, it's logical if your head isn't planted so far up a pop star's ass that you're actually looking out of his mouth while typing some whiny crap where everyone is a hater. And the funny part is that when I originally asked about this possibility, it was an off the cuff question that I validated as possible, but didn't care too much about at the time. But to you it's a kick in the balls. That is funny also.

I excepted these words from NON-FANS!!! But to hear it in THIS Forum. from ppl. who say they support MJ???

Wow. I guess sometimes people have the right idea when they refer to certain MJ fans as out of their minds. I believe my comment is no more insulting than insinuating that anyone who asked about the shipments isn't as big of a fan, but that's for the mods to sort out.
I've actually gained a new perspective on a fraction of the fandom, so I thank you for that.

Awesome. Now for the Billboard chart. #1 is a definite possibility.

I guess people thought it would bring moderate success but now we're seeing that even SONY underestimated the project. They probably did shipped half the amount that they would for a new release but little did they know just how well it was going to do. And in MY opinion the fact that sales ARE exceeding expectations speaks for itself. Before its release I was telling my friend that the album would defintely make the top 10 but DANG...I didn't know it would make the top 3! So it doesnt make me any less of a fan to think it was gonna make the top 10 (instead of top 3) because as I said before sales are exceeding expectations and NOBODY knew for a fact how well the album would be doing.

It's like the first time round all over again. The stuff flew off the shelves and surprised everyone. Quincy Jones had a minni breakdown over it. I hope Sony and MJ are better prepared for it this time around.:D

This news is fabulous!

I bet Sony & Co. are running around in circles trying to secure Michael's signature on a recording contract right about now. (IF they haven't already set something up, that is.)

I mean, in my opinion, Sony did an excellent job promoting T25. Imagine what a Sony sponsored promotion would be like on any NEW MJ project!

Do we know to date sales yet?? I know we got some scattered sales from around the world.. But anything added together for the official number yet?? Or will we have to wait for he week sales numbers to come in..
